Valve’s Best of 2024 chart includes 100 games in its Most Played category. It groups them into four tiers based on peak concurrent players—not reviews, total hours played, or lifetime sales. The chart is the source for Valve’s full list; the tier examples below are not a complete ranking.
How Valve’s 2024 Most Played chart is organized
The chart divides its 100 entries into four bands. A contemporaneous report by Notebookcheck describes the bands as ordered by peak concurrent-player count:
| Tier | Reported positions |
|---|---|
| Platinum | 1–12 |
| Gold | 13–24 |
| Silver | 25–50 |
| Bronze | The remaining entries, positions 51–100 |
These boundaries and the examples below are reported by Notebookcheck’s December 25, 2024 coverage. They describe chart tiers, not exact positions within each tier.
Examples reported in the top two tiers
Platinum
Notebookcheck names PUBG: Battlegrounds, Palworld, Elden Ring, Path of Exile 2, and Apex Legends as examples in Platinum. This is a selection, not the full tier, and it does not establish the games’ exact order.

Gold
Examples named in Gold are Stardew Valley, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Path of Exile, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Last Epoch. These names likewise should not be read as a complete list or as a ranking within Gold.
What “most played” means here
Peak concurrent players is the reported basis for the tiers: it reflects the number of players online at the same time at a peak. It is a snapshot of simultaneous activity, not a count of everyone who played a game over the year. The chart therefore should not be interpreted as a ranking by unique players, lifetime ownership, total playtime, review scores, or sales.
Where to see Valve’s complete chart
Valve’s archived Best of 2024 page is the destination for the original chart and full set of entries. In the accessible view, the chart is rendered as an image rather than a text list, so the exact order and all 100 names cannot be reliably reproduced here. Use Valve’s chart for the complete list rather than treating selected examples as a ranking.

Steam Replay is a personal account recap, not the platform-wide Best of 2024 chart. Valve’s December 18, 2024 announcement describes Replay as a look back at what an account played during 2024, including playtime by month and device. The Best of 2024 chart, by contrast, groups games using peak concurrent-player counts.
