What is the Ante Chamber crossover?
Ante Chamber is a mini-expansion pairing Vampire Survivors with Balatro, the card game created by LocalThunk. poncle’s FAQ lists the DLC for Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, Epic Games Store, and Apple Arcade. The FAQ does not give a separate Apple Arcade release date. poncle’s FAQ describes the collaboration and its platform availability.
The Steam announcement, dated October 28, 2025, lists four characters, four weapons and their evolutions, a new stage, and a remix of Balatro’s main theme. Nintendo’s product listing names the characters and weapons and describes several of their effects. The Steam announcement and Nintendo’s listing provide the feature details.
When did Ante Chamber arrive on each platform?
The official announcements do not present one fully consistent schedule. The Steam post’s rollout calendar says Steam and PlayStation received the content on October 28, 2025, with Nintendo Switch and Xbox scheduled for October 31. Nintendo’s listing gives October 31 as its release date, while Xbox’s storefront lists October 28. These are the dates stated by the respective sources, rather than a single reconciled release date.

Four weapons and evolutions
The listed weapons are Infernolatro, Gros Michel, Fibonacci Seltzer, and Celestial Booster; the DLC includes their evolutions. Nintendo specifically describes Gros Michel as firing bananas, each with a one-in-six chance to explode. That chance applies to the bananas as described by the listing, not to a real-world drop rate or a general weapon statistic.

Survarots, stage, and music
The crossover introduces Survarots, a mechanic the Steam announcement compares loosely to Arcana cards. The themed cards draw on Vampire Survivors characters and grant different bonuses. The announcement says Survarots are available to Secretino and Ante Chamber characters and also appear in the base game.
The new stage, also called Ante Chamber, is an extradimensional take on Balatro’s interface, with themed enemies and the Outer Saboteur ally. It is accompanied by a looping track; the Steam announcement describes the music addition as a remix of Balatro’s main theme.

How do you start the unlock chain?
- In Moongolow, find the special merchant.
- Buy the Joker Disk for 50,000 gold coins. This is an in-game currency requirement, not the DLC’s real-world price.
- Enter the new Ante Chamber stage and follow the unlock chain that begins there.

Is the DLC free, and what do you need to play it?
The DLC itself is free. On Xbox, the store listing says Ante Chamber is free but requires Vampire Survivors, which is sold separately. Nintendo likewise says the add-on requires the base game. poncle’s FAQ also says Xbox Game Pass players can get the DLC for free. Why did Vampire Survivors and Balatro cross over?
The collaboration followed an earlier crossover in the other direction. Vampire Survivors appeared in Balatro’s free Friends of Jimbo 1 cosmetic pack, which lets players replace the King, Queen, and Jack face cards with Sigma, Poe, and Villain. poncle says the teams kept talking and viewed Ante Chamber as a way to thank LocalThunk and Playstack. The FAQ credits its author as “The FAQ Writer™,” not a named spokesperson. poncle’s FAQ explains the connection.
