The Darkasso, Vampire Survivors’ version 1.11 update, added a challenge stage, a relic that unlocks Darkanas, five Darkanas, two special character skins and nine extra achievements. Poncle announced that it arrived on existing platforms on August 15, 2024; PlayStation received the content with the game’s August 29 launch.
What’s in the Vampire Survivors August 2024 update?
The version 1.11 patch notes list these additions: poncle’s update notes, archived by SteamDB, identify nine extra achievements, one challenge stage, one relic, two special character skins and five Darkanas.

How do you unlock Room 1665?
- Open the Secrets menu.
- Enter the spell
forbiddenboxto unlock Room 1665. - Play through the challenge stage and reach its bottom to obtain the Darkasso relic.
- Use the relic to enable Darkanas.
Room 1665 removes most relic powers and increases enemy strength as you advance, making the relic the reward for completing the stage rather than an item obtained simply by entering it.

When did the update release, and on which platforms?
Poncle’s release announcement, dated August 16, 2024, says The Darkasso became available August 15 on the then-existing PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, iOS and Android versions. The announcement says the PlayStation version would include the update when Vampire Survivors launched there on August 29; it was not a separate August 15 PlayStation update.
There is a date-label difference across sources: the release announcement gives August 15 as the initial release date, while SteamDB records the patch notes under August 16. For platform timing, Poncle’s announcement distinguishes the existing releases from PlayStation’s launch.

Is Vampire Survivors+ on Apple Arcade the same release?
No. Vampire Survivors+ joining Apple Arcade was a separate August 2024 announcement, not another name for version 1.11. The official Vampire Survivors announcements provide context for the separate Apple Arcade item.
