Vampire Survivors update 1.14 adds online co-op, two new base-game stages, a free Balatro crossover called Ante Chamber, and substantial new content for owners of the Ode to Castlevania DLC. It also introduces Party Mode, new characters and weapons, and the Survarot mechanic. Here’s what the update includes, how to unlock its headline features, and what to know about online play.
What’s new in Vampire Survivors update 1.14?
Poncle announced update 1.14 on October 28, 2025. Its main additions are online co-op for up to four players, the free Ante Chamber crossover with Balatro, and two new stages available in the base game: Westwoods and Mazerella. The patch also adds a Party Mode relic, two base-game playable characters, two weapons with evolutions, a character morph, a PowerUp, three Darkanas, and Survarots.
What does the free Balatro crossover add?
The crossover is titled Ante Chamber and is a free expansion. It brings four playable characters—Jimbo, Canio, Chicot, and Perkeo—plus four weapons with evolutions, a new stage, and a remix of Balatro’s main theme. Poncle’s announcement describes the weapons as follows:
- Infernolatro: a burning score counter.
- Gros Michel: a barrage of banana projectiles.
- Fibonacci Seltzer: spiralling streams that can trigger other weapons.
- Celestial Booster: orbiting planets and a rocket whose damage depends on your current riches.
How to unlock Ante Chamber
- Go to Moongolow and find the special merchant.
- Buy the Joker Disk for 50,000 gold coins.
- Follow the unlock chain that begins in Ante Chamber.
The Joker Disk is the starting requirement; the official quick guide does not detail every step in the subsequent unlock chain.

How online co-op works
Online co-op supports up to four players. Unlike local co-op, players can move independently around a stage. There is one important exception: entering a boss room pulls the rest of the party into it. The online rules also change how levels, deaths, pausing, and speed-up work.
- Level-ups: level-up screens are batched according to the number of players. In a four-player session, players see a level-up screen every four levels.
- After a death: a dead player can spectate a living teammate and respawn where that teammate is.
- Pausing: pausing does not stop the session for other players. The player who pauses receives a short invincibility window.
- Speed-up: this feature is disabled in online play.
DLC ownership in online rooms
At the time of the 1.14 announcement, every player in an online room needed to own a DLC to use its content online. Poncle said it hoped to change this, but described shared DLC access as requiring further technical work; it was not available at launch. The same announcement said online cross-play was unavailable, with a future patch only a possibility.

New base-game stages and Party Mode
The update adds Westwoods and Mazerella to the base game, along with Party Mode, which lets players control up to four characters at once. The official quick-guide unlock requirements are:
- Westwoods: find 23 Little Clovers.
- Mazerella: reach level 80 in Inverse Dairy Plant.
- Party Mode: find the Masquerade relic in Westwoods.
What are Survarots?
Poncle describes Survarots as a new “power-creep” mechanic. Secretino and all Ante Chamber characters can use them. They are themed around Vampire Survivors characters, resemble Arcana cards in broad terms, and grant different kinds of bonuses. The announcement does not provide a complete effects list or balance values, so it does not support a detailed Survarot build guide.

What’s included for Ode to Castlevania owners?
Update 1.14 also adds content for players who own the Ode to Castlevania expansion. Poncle lists 16 secret characters, three weapons with evolutions, 13 weapon unions, one Adventure, and 12 music tracks. The update content is free for existing DLC owners, but the underlying expansion must be owned or purchased to access it.

The official sources disagree about Xbox’s launch date. The Steam announcement’s release calendar scheduled Xbox for October 31, 2025, while poncle’s press release said Xbox launched on October 28. The dates below reflect the launch-era announcements; check the relevant platform store for historical rollout details or current availability.
