Qué pasó con los tenis de Versace en Fortnite
En julio de 2024, Versace invitó a los jugadores de Murder Mystery a explorar una excavación arqueológica en busca del Mercury. La marca anunció la experiencia en su publicación oficial de LinkedIn, con una ventana anunciada del 9 al 12 de julio.
El tenis que aparecía en el mapa era una versión digital inspirada en el modelo físico Versace Mercury. La búsqueda estaba ambientada alrededor de un pedestal dorado. Según Metavision, el estudio que documentó la campaña, solo el primer jugador que llegaba al tenis e interactuaba con él podía llevarlo como un accesorio personalizado tipo backbling durante la ronda siguiente; el estudio también atribuye doble XP al primer jugador. Esos detalles de la mecánica provienen de Metavision, no de la publicación de Versace.
¿Cómo se podían conseguir los tenis de Versace en Fortnite?
Durante el periodo anunciado, había que entrar al mapa Murder Mystery en Fortnite Creative y encontrar el Mercury dentro de la excavación. La recompensa era digital y estaba vinculada a la experiencia: Metavision señala que el primer jugador en interactuar con el objeto podía usarlo como backbling en la ronda posterior.

La ventana de la activación terminó el 12 de julio de 2024. Las fuentes disponibles no indican que el objeto siga obtenible ni que la experiencia promocional continúe activa, así que no debe entenderse como una guía para conseguirlo hoy.
¿Cuándo salió Versace en Fortnite?
La campaña se anunció para el 9 al 12 de julio de 2024. People en Español publicó su nota sobre la activación el 19 de julio de ese año, después de que terminara la ventana del evento. Por eso, decir que Versace “debutó” en videojuegos refleja el enfoque de aquella cobertura; no demuestra que esta fuera su primera aparición en cualquier videojuego o plataforma.

Metavision atribuye a la campaña Mercury Sneaker Drop 1,2 millones de reclamaciones del tenis y 63 millones de impresiones totales. La página del estudio no fecha la publicación de esas métricas ni proporciona verificación independiente; deben leerse como cifras reportadas por Metavision, no como resultados auditados por una fuente externa.
La activación también incluyó, según Metavision, una transmisión en Twitch y un sorteo de tenis con el creador Agent00. Estos elementos acompañaron la campaña, pero no cambian la naturaleza del premio encontrado en el mapa: era una recompensa digital y no el envío de un par físico como resultado de la búsqueda.

El tenis digital y el modelo físico no son lo mismo
El modelo que inspiró la experiencia se llama Versace Mercury. La historia de la campaña no acredita que ese calzado se vendiera dentro de Fortnite ni confirma su disponibilidad actual en tiendas. Para buscar información sobre el producto físico, el nombre pertinente es Versace Mercury sneakers; la página oficial consultada en la cobertura mostraba otros modelos, como Trigreca, y su precio visible no sirve para establecer el precio o la disponibilidad del Mercury.
