Viktor’s December 2024 update brought his League of Legends design closer to his Arcane appearance and paired the visual refresh with gameplay adjustments. Riot described it as enhanced visuals, new splash art and a few gameplay changes—not a complete replacement of his kit.
Why Viktor’s appearance changed
Riot said the update was intended to better align Viktor’s design between League of Legends and Arcane. The official Patch 14.24 notes described the work as “enhanced visuals, some new splash arts, and a few gameplay adjustments.” Riot’s Viktor, the Herald of the Arcane champion update trailer accompanied the release.
The change therefore covered more than his base appearance: Riot also updated splash art and adjusted abilities and progression. The notes do not describe it as a full kit replacement.
What changed in Viktor’s abilities?
Riot’s Patch 14.24 notes changed Viktor’s passive and all four abilities. The figures below are the historical changes recorded in those notes, not a statement of current live values.

Why passive progression shifted
Riot said it wanted Viktor to evolve more consistently from game to game, so it shifted some Hex Fragments from champion takedowns to cannon minions. That lowers the fragment reward for takedowns while increasing the minion reward.
What the ultimate upgrade does
The evolved Arcane Storm can expand as it damages enemies who die. Riot connected this growth mechanic to the world-ending scale Viktor displayed in Arcane; mechanically, it is a conditional upgrade unlocked after the other ability evolutions and 100 more fragments.

When did the update arrive?
Riot published PC League of Legends Patch 14.24 on December 10, 2024. Its notes listed the Arcane Savior Viktor skin as available December 11, 2024, at 20:00 UTC. Those dates describe the historical launch, not present-day skin availability.
Riot also recorded a mid-patch adjustment on December 18, 2024: Viktor’s health growth fell from 104 to 100, and his armor growth from 5.2 to 4.4. These are historical balance changes, not necessarily his current stats.

How this differs from the Wild Rift update
Wild Rift had a separate Viktor overview and rollout. Riot’s Wild Rift Viktor Champion Overview said players could “Become part of it on December 12th UTC!” That timing applies to Wild Rift content; it is not the PC Patch 14.24 date. Wild Rift’s official Viktor champion profile lists its own ability presentation.
