Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. first arrived on PC via Steam on January 28, 2025. It is no longer an upcoming PC release: the game has since expanded into Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, now available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
When did Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. come to PC?
SEGA released Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. on Steam on January 28, 2025, marking the series’ PC debut. SEGA described it as building on Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown Ver. 2.0, highlighting rollback netcode and improved graphics. The publisher’s announcement is available in its Steam launch release.
That original PC release was not a new game built from scratch: SEGA presented it as an extension of the existing Ultimate Showdown version. The word “remaster” can describe the updated presentation informally, but SEGA’s release emphasizes the added features rather than defining the game with that label.
What is Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage?
World Stage is the later edition of R.E.V.O. SEGA released it on October 30, 2025, for Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Steam version was upgraded to World Stage at no extra cost, with players’ unlocks and progress retained, according to SEGA’s launch announcement. The official Virtua Fighter portal also posted a free Steam update notice.

The update’s main additions include a single-player tournament mode, replay viewing, customizable training, cross-play and the Dural DLC fighter. SEGA says the game uses rollback netcode to improve online responsiveness; that is the publisher’s description, not a guarantee of identical results on every connection.

SEGA says the Switch 2 edition supports cross-play with Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Its announcement also lists rollback netcode, new moves and combos, balance updates and training improvements. What changed in the September 2026 update?
SEGA’s September 10, 2026 version 1.12 notice says the update is live and adds a Forced Relay Connection option across platforms. The notice also lists Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xbox Play Anywhere and Game Pass availability for Xbox. SEGA warns that matchmaking does not work between different game versions, so update before trying to play online. See the version 1.12 notice for the details.

SEGA confirmed a physical 30th Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. The announced package includes the base game, specified DLC and anniversary bonuses, plus a double-sided poster. Pricing in SEGA of America’s March 26, 2026 announcement is UK pricing; check local retailers for current regional pricing and stock before buying.
