You do not need vMix Pro or Max just because your YouTube stream is meant to run for 24 hours. vMix’s published editions do not specify a stream-duration requirement; choose the least expensive license that supports your inputs, resolution, overlays, recording, outputs, replay, and remote callers. The bigger 24/7 caveat is YouTube’s: a live stream longer than 12 hours may not be archived at all.
vMix pricing in India: current published prices
vMix currently lists four lifetime licenses and one monthly subscription. The prices below are the vendor’s displayed US-dollar amounts, not verified final prices in Indian rupees.
| Edition | Published price | License model | Maximum resolution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic HD | US$60 | Lifetime license | 1920 × 1080 |
| HD | US$350 | Lifetime license | 1920 × 1080 |
| 4K | US$700 | Lifetime license | 4096 × 2160 |
| Pro | US$1,200 | Lifetime license | 4096 × 2160 |
| Max | US$50 per month | Monthly subscription | 4096 × 2160 |
These are amounts shown on vMix’s purchase comparison page, checked in 2026. The sources do not establish an India-specific rupee total, applicable Indian taxes, your card provider’s exchange rate, or bank fees. Check the final amount at vendor checkout before buying; do not treat a currency conversion of the listed price as a confirmed India price.
Which vMix license do you need for a 24/7 YouTube stream?
Choose by production requirements, not by the number of hours you plan to stay live. vMix’s comparison and edition guide do not list a 24-hour duration gate or say that Pro or Max is required for long streams.

What a 24-hour stream means for YouTube archives
YouTube says it may automatically archive a live stream if it is less than 12 hours. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. YouTube also warns that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. These limits apply regardless of the vMix edition.
If viewers need a complete replay, do not rely on YouTube to retain one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast. Plan a local recording workflow and test it, or schedule intentional breaks that create shorter streams. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee that a particular break or recording setup will preserve every part of a program; verify your own workflow before depending on it.

What you need to run vMix continuously
vMix is Windows PC production software. A license does not guarantee that a particular PC, capture setup, power supply, or internet connection can sustain an always-on broadcast. The required computer and any capture hardware depend on your cameras, resolution, ports, and workload; the cited vMix documentation does not establish one specification that fits every 24/7 setup.
In general, YouTube’s encoder setup uses the YouTube Live server URL and stream key in the encoder. vMix supports streaming to YouTube. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup guidance and vMix’s software information for the workflow. These sources do not specify a special vMix license for a long stream or establish a tested 24-hour handoff procedure. Protect your stream key as a credential, and test your complete setup—including recording, if needed—before relying on it unattended.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common 24/7 streaming problems to plan for
- The stream ends unexpectedly: A license tier is not an uptime guarantee. Check the PC, power, internet connection, source inputs, and encoder status; test recovery steps before leaving the system unattended.
- The YouTube replay is missing or incomplete: A stream over 12 hours may not be archived. Use a tested local recording workflow or schedule shorter broadcasts if a complete replay matters.
- Playback or inputs fail after a long run: The reviewed vendor materials do not establish sustained performance for your specific hardware. Test the cameras, capture devices, and workload over a representative period.
- The India checkout amount differs from your expectation: The published figures are in US dollars. Review the vendor checkout total and any charges shown by your payment provider rather than assuming a particular rupee amount.
- Your chosen edition lacks a needed feature: Recheck the current edition comparison against your inputs, overlays, resolution, recording, outputs, replay, and caller needs before purchasing.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is an always-on YouTube channel playing uploaded videos, rather than a live camera production, StreamNeo is an alternative to running vMix on a PC. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the videos from the cloud.
