Quick route: The main story follows Henry of Skalitz through two regions. Route guides from KCD2.org count 32 base-game main quests: 12 in Trosky and 20 in Kuttenberg. PowerPyx places the regional change after quest 12, Storm. Before starting Storm, review every active side quest and timed objective you care about; some optional content can become unavailable after major story advances.
This guide puts spoiler-light objectives first and fuller planning advice below them. Quest-specific timing warnings are included only where walkthrough sources report a trigger or point of no return. The counts and route division are guide-resource information, not an official developer quest statistic.
How to use this walkthrough
- Objective: the immediate goal you can follow with the in-game journal.
- Preparation: equipment, condition, supplies, or activities worth handling before the next commitment.
- Timing warning: a guide-reported deadline or story trigger. Do not treat an unmarked quest as permanently missable merely because it appears on the map.
- Spoiler: outcome and solution detail. Stop at the heading if you want to discover conversations and choices yourself.
When a quest offers several approaches, use the journal objective and the relevant map marker as your authority. Choices can affect how the world responds to Henry, so there is no single required role-playing style for every conversation.

Before you commit to the main route
Read the journal, not just the map
A quest icon tells you that content exists, not that it can safely wait. Open the journal before accepting a major objective, identify any wording such as “before,” “quickly,” or a named person in danger, and check whether another quest has a visible timer or urgent state.

Keep Henry ready for changing demands
- Repair or replace worn equipment. Official game materials emphasize equipment condition, and damaged gear can undermine a difficult encounter.
- Carry the equipment appropriate to the objective shown in your journal. The game supports several weapon types, including crossbows and early firearms, as well as close combat.
- Use blacksmithing and archery when an upcoming task calls for them; these are documented activities, not mandatory build prescriptions.
- Save before accepting a major story objective if you want a clean branch point for experimenting with dialogue or approach.
Choose your spoiler level
For a discovery-first run, follow only the numbered objective lists in each regional section. For a completion-focused run, use the checkpoint and missables sections before advancing the story, then return to the relevant quest-specific guide when a choice or location is unclear.
Trosky main-story walkthrough
The route resources place the first 12 main quests in Trosky. Quest titles and objectives appear in your current journal; follow their order rather than skipping to a map marker from a later quest.
Opening sequence: establish the current objective
- Finish the prologue objectives shown in the journal and wait for the first free-roam opportunity before pursuing optional markers.
- When a main quest adds several sub-objectives, complete the one currently marked as active; the order of unchecked entries can change after a conversation.
- Use beds, merchants, fast-travel points, and underground entrances on the regional map when you need to recover, resupply, or reach a documented location. These are optional navigation aids, not requirements for the route.
- Before leaving an area for a major meeting or confrontation, read the timing language in every active side quest.
Middle Trosky quests
- Keep the main quest selected while travelling so the objective marker reflects the current stage rather than an older optional task.
- Resolve conversations in the manner you prefer, but make a manual save before a high-stakes meeting if you want to test another response.
- Repair equipment after combat and before an objective that clearly leads to a fight. The game’s real-time combat and varied weapons reward arriving with serviceable gear, but the walkthrough does not require a specific build.
- Return to the journal after every major scene. A completed objective can unlock a new destination or change the state of an existing quest.
Quest 12: Storm
Spoiler-light objective: follow the journal through Storm and finish its current objectives. This is the route’s Trosky-to-Kuttenberg checkpoint.

Timing warning: before you begin or advance Storm, review active optional quests and timed objectives. PowerPyx and other walkthrough resources warn that story advancement can make some side content unavailable, but that warning is not proof that every Trosky quest is missable.
Pre-transition checklist
- Read each active side-quest objective and note any explicit deadline.
- Finish optional tasks whose own guide identifies Storm or a related story advance as the trigger.
- Collect rewards, repair essential equipment, and make a manual save.
- When you are ready to move on, start Storm and let the journal establish the next region.
Moving from Trosky to Kuttenberg
The cited route guides place Kuttenberg after Storm, not at the start of the game. Once the story relocates Henry, switch to the Kuttenberg map and recheck the journal. Do not assume that a Trosky marker remains reachable or that an unfinished optional quest has the same deadline after the transition.
Kuttenberg main-story walkthrough
The second story block contains 20 guide-counted main quests. Because the in-game journal supplies the authoritative current wording, use the following sequence for safe progression rather than trying to follow a later objective early.

Re-establish the route
- Select the newly active main quest and read all sub-objectives before travelling.
- Use Kuttenberg’s regional map for the marker type you need: quests, beds, fast travel, merchants, underground entrances, or collectibles.
- Complete the active objective, then reopen the journal. New conversations and destinations can replace the previous marker.
Handling investigation and travel objectives
- Search only the locations named by the current objective before expanding into optional exploration.
- Speak to the person or group identified by the journal, then check for an updated objective instead of assuming the first conversation ended the step.
- Keep a practical weapon set and serviceable equipment for objectives that visibly move toward combat. Crossbows and early firearms are available options, but no universal loadout is required.
- Use a manual save before a consequential meeting or a sequence that removes fast travel while the journal makes that possibility clear.
Later Kuttenberg quests and points of no return
Before every major advance, repeat the same check: journal deadlines, active optional quests, equipment condition, and a manual save. A map icon alone does not establish that an activity is safe to postpone. PowerPyx reports free roam after the story, with limits on content beyond points of no return; treat the relevant quest’s own warning as decisive.

What counts as a reliable warning
- A quest guide names a deadline, a required sequence, or a specific story trigger.
- The in-game journal uses urgent wording or shows a timer.
- A walkthrough identifies a point of no return for that quest.
If none of these applies, do not label the quest missable. The cited resources are secondary walkthroughs rather than developer documentation, so their timing reports should be presented as guide-reported behavior and checked against the quest’s current journal state.
A repeatable checkpoint routine
- Open the journal and list every active optional objective.
- Separate explicit timed objectives from ordinary exploration.
- Complete the timed items or consult their quest-specific warning before advancing the main quest.
- Repair equipment, collect rewards, and save manually.
- Advance the main quest, then reopen the journal to see what changed.
Optional maps and navigation
KCD2.org maintains separate Trosky and Kuttenberg maps. Their marker categories include quests, beds, fast travel, merchants, underground entrances, and collectibles. Use the Trosky map until Storm moves the story, then switch to Kuttenberg. The maps are optional: the main route remains usable with the in-game journal and map alone.

Combat and activity preparation
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an open-world action RPG set in fifteenth-century Bohemia. Official PlayStation and publisher materials describe real-time combat, multiple weapon types, crossbows, early firearms, equipment condition, blacksmithing, and archery. Bring those mechanics into route planning only when the current objective calls for them. A walkthrough cannot guarantee a single best build because dialogue choices and player decisions shape how the world reacts to Henry.
Ending and post-story play
After the main story, guide resources report free roam with limitations around content beyond points of no return. Finish any quest-specific optional content before the warning attached to that quest rather than relying on a general promise that everything remains available. No reliable completion-time, sales, or map-size statistic is established here.

- Side quests: read every active objective and act on explicit timers or named story triggers.
- Activities: return to blacksmithing, archery, and other activities when an objective or personal playstyle calls for them.
- Collectibles: use the regional map’s collectible markers if you want a location-led sweep.
- Achievements: check the achievement requirement before making a choice that could affect it.
- DLC: keep add-on objectives separate from the 32-quest base-game route unless the add-on’s own instructions establish a connection.
Game, editions, and historical setting
The official US PlayStation Store lists a PS5 edition; the Steam listing is the PC storefront. Check your region’s current store page for availability, edition contents, and price. Do not assume the PS5 edition is a PC or Xbox license.
PLAION describes a Collector’s Edition containing the Royal Edition contents, a statue of Henry and Pebbles, an exclusive cloth map, enamel pins, a letter, and collectible cards. Stock and current retail availability are not established here, so verify before buying. The publisher also links to a Kingdom Come merchandise store.
Xbox Wire’s February 4, 2025 interview with Warhorse senior game designer Ondřej Bittner describes the setting as both research and interpretation: “The task of authentically recreating 15th century Bohemia for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is one that’s part careful forensic work, and part respectful artistic interpretation.” In the same discussion, Bittner refers to “the military maps created in the mid-19th century” as part of the studio’s reference material. The result is a historically grounded game world, not a documentary reconstruction.
