Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a single-player, third-person action-adventure that follows Cal Kestis five years after Jedi: Fallen Order. This guide explains how to make story progress, choose a practical combat approach, recognize Force-puzzle requirements, handle traversal gates, and plan collectible cleanup without relying on unverified boss weaknesses or a fixed 100% route.

Start here: requirements, platforms and progression

You can begin Survivor without a completed Fallen Order save. Progress from the earlier game does not carry over, so your decisions here are made from a new save.

EA lists the game for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, with PC storefront options including Steam, Epic Games and the EA app. EA gives April 28, 2023 as the release date. Controls and performance depend on your platform and edition, so use the control layout shown in your game rather than a platform-specific list copied from another version.

What the game expects you to learn

  • Lightsaber combat uses multiple stances, each suited to different enemy situations and player preferences.
  • Force abilities serve both combat and environmental interactions.
  • Traversal skills, equipment and rideable creatures open ways through the game world.
  • Some exploration goals are intended for a later return after you obtain a required ability or piece of equipment.

Main-story walkthrough: deciding where to go next

The safest way to advance is to treat the current story objective as your priority and investigate optional paths only when the game gives you the ability to use them. A blocked route is often a progression signal rather than a failed puzzle solution.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor
  • No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight; Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous
  • The cinematic combat system returns with additional Force abilities and new lightsaber fighting styles; Creatively leverage all these abilities and weapons to strategically take on an expanded host of enemies, sizing up strengths and weaknesses
  • Discover new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, each with unique biomes, challenges, and enemies; Master new skills, equipment, and abilities that will augment the ways you explore, fight, and roam
  • With larger areas to explore and more to discover off the beaten path, players who adventure beyond the horizon will find hidden rewards

When a route appears impossible

  1. Read the current objective and inspect every on-screen interaction prompt near the obstruction.
  2. Try the Force or traversal interaction that the game makes available at that point in the story.
  3. If no interaction is offered, leave the area and continue the marked objective. Record the location mentally or with your own notes for a later return.
  4. After a story unlock, revisit previously blocked branches before moving on if you are pursuing exploration rather than a purely critical-path run.

Exact mission order, region-by-region routes and map-upgrade behavior are not established here, so this guide does not pretend there is one verified sequence for every optional objective.

Combat and boss encounters

There is no universally “best” lightsaber stance. The useful choice changes with the enemy situation, the space available and how confidently you can read attacks. Survivor expands combat with additional stances and customization, so experiment rather than forcing one setup through every encounter.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Deluxe EA App - Origin PC [Online Game Code]
  • Continue Cal’s Journey - No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight.
  • Go Beyond Your Training – The cinematic combat system returns with additional Force abilities and new lightsaber fighting styles.
  • Explore an Untamed Galaxy – Discover new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, each with unique challenges, and enemies.
  • The Dark Times are closing in – with enemies surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.
Situation Practical approach Why it helps
Several enemies or attacks from different directions Use the stance whose reach, defense or movement you can control reliably, and keep room to reposition. Managing spacing and incoming threats matters more than theoretical damage.
One durable opponent Choose the stance with timing you understand; watch the enemy before committing to long attacks. Recognizing openings and avoiding punishment is more dependable than chasing a prescribed build.
A fight that repeatedly overwhelms you Lower the difficulty outside combat, change stance, and practice a shorter attack pattern focused on survival. Difficulty can be changed during play when you are not in combat, and rewards do not change by difficulty according to EA.
Combat mixed with platforming or precise movement Enable Slow Mode if normal game speed makes timing difficult. EA describes Slow Mode as slowing world action to ease both combat and platforming.

A repeatable boss-learning loop

  1. Spend the first attempt observing: identify the attacks that can be blocked, parried, evaded or simply avoided.
  2. On the next attempt, prioritize staying alive and learning the rhythm instead of maximizing damage.
  3. Use Force abilities when the encounter presents a clear opportunity, but do not assume every boss shares the same vulnerability.
  4. Change difficulty or activate Slow Mode outside the encounter if execution, rather than understanding, is the barrier.

No verified source establishes a complete list of boss weaknesses, mandatory stance pairings or optimal skill builds, so treat online “one best build” claims cautiously.

Force puzzles and environmental interactions

When the problem is identifying the intended Force action, turn on Force Interaction Hints. EA’s accessibility resource describes these hints as on-screen button prompts that indicate which Force ability an environmental puzzle requires.

Use the hint system without wasting attempts

  1. Open the game’s accessibility settings and enable Force Interaction Hints.
  2. Return to the puzzle and look for the prompt attached to the object or surface you are meant to affect.
  3. Confirm that the named Force ability is available on your current save.
  4. If the required ability is not yet available, stop repeating the same interaction and continue the story until a later unlock permits a return.

A prompt can identify the required ability, but it does not remove the need to stand in the correct position or complete the interaction sequence. Check nearby ledges, doors and movable objects before concluding that the puzzle is broken.

Traversal, equipment and exploration

Exploration combines traversal skills, equipment, Force use and rideable creatures. Think of every inaccessible ledge, sealed passage or distant platform as a route to classify rather than a demand to brute-force immediately.

Classify an obstruction

  • Ability gate: the game gives no usable prompt yet; continue the story and return after an unlock.
  • Positioning problem: the ability is available, but you have not reached the correct angle, height or approach.
  • Equipment problem: the route expects a tool or item obtained elsewhere.
  • Optional detour: the path is accessible but not required for the current objective; decide whether to explore now or return during cleanup.

Rideable creatures are part of the exploration design, but the exact creature, region and unlock timing can vary by progression. Follow the prompt the game provides and avoid assuming that a mount or traversal technique is available everywhere.

Collectibles and cleanup planning

A first playthrough is usually easier when you separate story momentum from systematic cleanup. Collect obvious items encountered on the critical path, but do not spend an hour forcing a route that lacks a currently available interaction.

A low-friction cleanup method

  1. Finish the current story objective when an area is clearly gated.
  2. Note blocked doors, ledges and Force objects in your own checklist.
  3. After obtaining a new traversal ability, equipment piece or Force capability, revisit the places you recorded.
  4. Use the game’s available regional information and on-screen prompts to check what remains, while remembering that a complete collectible count or definitive missable list is not established here.

This approach avoids treating every inaccessible collectible as permanently missable. Do not rely on claims that a particular item is unavailable later unless they are confirmed for your platform and version.

Accessibility and difficulty settings

EA says players can choose the difficulty that makes play comfortable, switch difficulty during gameplay when they are not in combat, and earn the same in-game rewards at every difficulty. That makes changing difficulty a practical progression tool rather than a penalty.

“We encourage players to choose the difficulty level that will make their gameplay experience most enjoyable, comfortable in the knowledge that there is no difference in the in-game rewards earned and that they can switch between modes during gameplay so long as they are not in combat.”

Use Slow Mode when the limiting factor is reaction speed or platforming timing. Use Force Interaction Hints when the limiting factor is recognizing which ability a puzzle expects. These options address different problems and can be combined with a stance change or a lower combat difficulty.

What this guide can and cannot guarantee

The official descriptions establish the game’s single-player sequel context, expanded stance-based combat, Force interactions, traversal systems, equipment and creatures. They do not establish a single best build, exact mission order, complete boss weakness chart, collectible total or guaranteed 100% route. For those details, verify advice against the specific platform, edition and current game version you are playing.
