As checked on August 18, 2026, Walmart lists the onn. 24-inch FHD 180Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor (model 100027813) for $99—not the $129 price in the deal headline. At $99, it is a plausible entry-level choice for 1080p high-refresh gaming if you are comfortable with limited performance data. At $129, compare it with Walmart’s listed 25-inch 200Hz model at $99 and 27-inch 240Hz model at $129 before buying.
The $129 deal price appears out of date
The advertised offer describes the monitor as $129, down from $149, but the current Walmart product listing showed it at $99 when checked on August 18, 2026. That makes the old $20-savings framing unreliable as a description of today’s price. Walmart says prices can vary online, in stores, and in its app, so check your final cart price and the product details before ordering.
Use model number 100027813 to identify the product. There is a listing wrinkle: the Walmart URL still contains wording for an older 165Hz Adaptive-Sync version, while the current listing title and specifications identify a 180Hz FreeSync monitor. Confirm that the model number and specifications match before checkout.

These are listing specifications, not independent test results. Walmart notes that product information supplied by manufacturers, suppliers, and others may not have been independently verified. The claimed ergonomic stand also conflicts with older deal coverage that described a more limited, tilt-only stand. If height adjustment or portrait rotation matters to you, confirm those features in the current listing, product manual, or photos before purchase.

What 180Hz, 1ms, and FreeSync mean for gaming
A 180Hz screen can refresh up to 180 times per second. High refresh rates can make motion feel smoother and controls more responsive, particularly in competitive shooters, racing games, and other fast-paced titles. Your computer must render a high frame rate to take full advantage; a PC that stays well below 180 frames per second will not deliver a full 180Hz experience. A move from 60Hz is usually more noticeable than the smaller step from 144Hz or 165Hz to 180Hz. Refresh rate alone does not guarantee low input lag or clear motion.
The “1ms” figure is Walmart’s 1ms TR specification, not an independently measured average or a guarantee of 1ms performance under every setting. Ghosting, overshoot, and motion clarity depend on the panel, overdrive mode, refresh rate, and test conditions. Treat the number as an advertised specification, not proof that this is equivalent to a premium esports display.
FreeSync can reduce tearing and stutter when frame rates fluctuate by synchronizing the display’s refresh with the graphics output. Walmart’s accessible listing confirms FreeSync but does not specify its operating range. Connect the monitor, enable adaptive sync in its on-screen menu if available, then enable FreeSync or compatible variable refresh in your graphics settings. NVIDIA-card compatibility is not the same as verified G-SYNC certification, which the listing does not establish.

The listing includes both HDMI and DisplayPort cables, but it does not say which input supports 180Hz or establish the bandwidth limits of either connection. Do not assume every input reaches the maximum refresh rate. For a PC, DisplayPort is a sensible first connection to try; check the manual and the operating system’s detected modes if 180Hz is unavailable.
Is Full HD at 24 inches a sensible choice?
For a 23.8-inch screen, 1920 × 1080 is a practical budget-gaming pairing. It asks less of a graphics card than 1440p, making high frame rates more attainable on an inexpensive PC. Full HD is entry-level by current gaming-monitor standards, not a high-resolution upgrade: people who sit very close or value fine desktop detail may prefer 1440p, typically at higher cost and with greater GPU demands.
Where the listing leaves important questions unanswered
The available specification information does not clearly establish the panel technology, brightness, contrast, color-gamut coverage, color accuracy, HDR certification, FreeSync range, measured input lag, or real-world response-time behavior. It also does not confirm whether the monitor has speakers or whether 180Hz is available through every input. Those omissions prevent a confident verdict on image quality and motion performance.

The listing mentions “HDR color enhancement,” but that wording is not evidence of DisplayHDR certification or strong HDR brightness and contrast. Do not buy it expecting a validated HDR experience. Similarly, the listing does not establish console-specific 120Hz support, so check the console’s output modes and the monitor’s manual rather than assuming that a console will run at 120Hz.

Older deal coverage says the monitor lacks built-in speakers and is not aimed at color-critical work. Walmart’s accessible specifications do not list speakers or measured color performance, so treat those points as secondary coverage rather than independently verified testing. If you need audio, plan on headphones or separate speakers; if you need reliable color for creative work, choose a monitor with documented, tested color performance.

These are listing-level comparisons, not performance rankings. The 24-inch model makes sense if you want a compact 1080p screen and its stand or included cables suit your setup. If its price is $129, the 25-inch 200Hz and 27-inch 240Hz listings make it harder to justify unless you specifically prefer the 24-inch size. If you want sharper detail and have the budget and GPU for it, consider the QHD model instead.
Who should buy it?
- Consider it at $99 if you want a new, compact 1080p high-refresh monitor for as little as possible, your PC can make use of high refresh, and you accept that independent measurements and several image-quality specifications are unavailable.
- Compare alternatives at $129 rather than treating that price as a special deal. The same-brand 25-inch 200Hz model was listed at $99 and the 27-inch 240Hz model at $129 when checked.
- Look elsewhere if you need 1440p, proven color accuracy, meaningful HDR performance, built-in speakers, USB-C video, a USB hub, or well-documented motion and input-lag measurements. This listing does not establish those benefits.
Setup and return-period checklist
- Before ordering, check that the final price, model number (100027813), refresh rate, and return terms match what you expect. Walmart’s page showed free shipping and free 30-day returns when checked; confirm those terms for your order.
- Connect the monitor to your PC, trying DisplayPort first if 180Hz is your goal. The listing does not confirm the maximum refresh rate for each input.
- In Windows, open Settings → System → Display → Advanced display, select the monitor, and choose 180Hz if that mode is available. The system may initially use 60Hz. On another operating system, use its display settings and the graphics driver’s controls.
- Enable adaptive sync in the monitor’s menu if the option is present, then turn on FreeSync or compatible variable refresh in your GPU software. If the option is missing, check the cable, selected input, monitor menu, and driver settings.
- During the return window, inspect for dead pixels and image uniformity, and test games at the refresh rates and overdrive settings you plan to use. Watch for flicker, ghosting, or distracting overshoot. A high refresh-rate label does not guarantee that the image will look good to you.
Walmart displayed different review counts across its product and category pages, so ratings and counts are snapshots rather than fixed product facts. The product page also showed optional protection plans at $13 for three years or $16 for four years; compare their exclusions and claims process with the listed one-year standard warranty before adding coverage.
