Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Aeldari in Distress has had several official fixes, including fixes for objectives that would not complete and dialogue problems. Owlcat’s known-issues list, last updated July 20, 2026, does not name the quest. That is encouraging, but it does not guarantee every platform, save, or mod setup is free of quest-state problems. If your stuck objective involves a Chorda squadron battle in Tenebris Aquae, Owlcat’s specific instruction is to update the game and return to that system.
Which “Aeldari in Distress” problems have been fixed?
Owlcat’s patch notes document several distinct issues rather than one single bug. In its 1.1.28 notes, the studio said it “Fixed a bug which in some cases made it impossible to complete the objectives of Aeldari in Distress quest” and restored a missing dialogue option. The notes also added quest rewards. These changes addressed reported cases; they do not establish that every possible quest-state failure is impossible.
Update 1.3, dated December 10, 2024, addressed two further symptoms: dialogue that repeated indefinitely after the quest had failed, and an end-of-quest conversation with Yrliet that could cut off under certain conditions. Read Owlcat’s Update 1.3 notes.
What to do if the Tenebris Aquae objective will not complete
Owlcat identified a specific failure in which a Tenebris Aquae event completed through a space battle with a Chorda squadron did not mark the quest task as complete. Its recovery instruction was: “If you have it unfinished, you need to return to that system.” Update the game to a build containing the fix, then travel back to Tenebris Aquae and check the quest log. See Owlcat’s announcement and recovery instruction.
#1 Best Overall
This instruction applies to that battle-event symptom. It is not a general remedy for every missing quest, dialogue issue, or objective that fails elsewhere.
How to narrow down a different stuck quest symptom
- Objective does not register elsewhere: Check the exact wording of the unfinished objective and compare it with the documented objective-completion fix. The patch notes do not describe a universal reset or workaround.
- Dialogue repeats after failure: Update the game; Update 1.3 specifically fixed indefinite repetition in that failed-quest case.
- Yrliet’s final dialogue cuts off: Update 1.3 also addressed that conditional dialogue cutoff.
- A dialogue choice is missing: Update 1.1.28 restored a missing option, but the notes do not say that every missing-choice situation has the same cause.
- The quest does not appear: The cited fixes do not establish a general solution for an absent quest. Record the platform and build, the quest-log state, whether Yrliet was present, and whether mods are enabled before seeking help.
For general cases of empty dialogue or a character that will not move, Owlcat’s support guidance advises updating mods and verifying game files. Those are general troubleshooting steps, not a documented Aeldari in Distress-specific cure. Owlcat support: empty dialogue or a character that will not move.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does the latest known-issues list say the quest is fixed?
Owlcat’s known-issues page was last updated July 20, 2026. It lists PC version 1.6.1.514 and includes platform update information for Mac, Microsoft Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox; Aeldari in Distress is not named in the visible list. Owlcat also announced Update 1.6 on June 11, 2026 as containing many bug fixes, but that announcement does not identify a new fix for this quest.
The list’s omission is not proof that every platform, older save, or mod configuration is clear. For a useful report or support request, include your platform, displayed game build, exact quest-log objective, whether Yrliet was present, and whether mods are enabled. Check Owlcat’s known-issues page.
