Focus Entertainment’s September 2026 roadmap lays out the remaining planned updates for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: Patch 15 and Patch 16 were slated for the rest of 2026, with an Apothecary class, new Operations and weapons, and gameplay reworks planned for 2027. Patch 15’s Anniversary Update II has since released, bringing Chaos Siege and other additions on October 1, 2026. These are publisher plans, not guaranteed delivery dates; the schedule has already shifted once.
What is the Space Marine 2 roadmap?
The latest roadmap is a September 2026 update from Focus Entertainment describing the rest of the game’s third year of post-launch support. It follows an April 2026 extension of live support into a third year, after which content postponed from Year 2 was to roll forward and remain free. The roadmap named Patch 15 and Patch 16 for the remainder of 2026, and outlined broader gameplay additions for 2027.
One item has moved from plan to release: Focus announced on October 1, 2026, that Patch 15, called Anniversary Update II, was available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles and PC. The remaining roadmap items below are announced plans unless specifically identified as released.
What’s coming to Space Marine 2 next?
Patch 15: released October 1, 2026
The second Anniversary Update opened the game’s third year of post-launch support. Its headline addition is Chaos Siege, a PvE mode in which players control Heretic Astartes. The update also includes two Siege sectors on Avarax, a Crucible system built around Penances and rewards, a One-Handed Thunder Hammer, additional weapon variants and armour pieces, and the first two Season Pass 3 cosmetic DLCs. Focus’s release announcement lists the update for PS5, Xbox Series and PC.

Patch 16: planned for the rest of 2026
Focus’s September roadmap said Patch 16 was expected before the end of 2026. The remaining-year highlights included Chaos Siege, a new PvP mode with Weekly Stratagems, and other gameplay additions. The update did not attach a specific date to Patch 16, so its timing should be treated as a window rather than a confirmed launch day.

Patch 17 and 2027 plans
The most clearly specified 2027 addition is the Apothecary, announced as a new playable class for Patch 17 in Q1 2027. Focus said a Champion skin would follow in the update after the class’s release. The broader 2027 plan also lists additional Operations and weapons, alongside reworks to several gameplay features and core systems. Five Cosmetic and Champion Packs were planned for Year 3; one remained redacted in the September update, and two customization teasers were intentionally cryptic.
Focus has not publicly identified the details behind the redacted pack or teasers in that roadmap, so their contents cannot yet be stated reliably. Future patch windows and features may change, as the prior schedule did.

How did the roadmap change?
The current schedule is easier to understand in context: Year 2 was first announced as a six-patch plan spanning 2025 and 2026. In April 2026, Focus said support would continue into a third year and that postponed Year 2 content would roll over while staying free. The September roadmap then set out the remaining 2026 patches and 2027 plans.
| Roadmap update | What Focus announced |
|---|---|
| Launch-period overview | Ongoing free gameplay updates, including PvE Operations, PvP maps and modes, and Horde Mode, alongside a paid Season Pass for chapter cosmetics. The first pass included a Dark Angels theme pack. |
| Year 2, announced August 2025 | Six planned patches across 2025 and 2026, including four Operations and a new Siege map; three Eternal War arenas; PvE Stratagems and PvP Helbrute Onslaught; a Techmarine class; weapons and unlockable variants; enemies and bosses; and progression mechanics. Season Pass II was to include nine cosmetic DLCs. |
| Updated plan, April 30, 2026 | The previously redacted DLC was identified as a Salamanders Champion Pack. A Wargear rework was split across two patches: capes and Iron Halos in Patch 13, then tabards and robes in Patch 14. Siege was slated for a substantial overhaul with gameplay modifiers. Focus also announced the third year of support and the rollover of postponed Year 2 content. |
| Year 3, September 2026 | Patch 15 and Patch 16 were planned for the rest of 2026; 2027 was to bring a new class, Operations, weapons and gameplay reworks. The Apothecary was named for Patch 17 in Q1 2027. Five Cosmetic and Champion Packs were planned, with one still redacted. |
| Patch 15 release, October 1, 2026 | Anniversary Update II shipped with Chaos Siege, two Siege sectors on Avarax, Crucible, a One-Handed Thunder Hammer, additional weapon variants and armour pieces, and the first two Season Pass 3 cosmetic DLCs. |
Focus’s April Community Update reported that the game had reached 12 million players as of April 30, 2026. That is a publisher-reported player milestone, not a sales or copies-sold figure.

Is Space Marine 2 getting a new class?
Yes. Focus named the Apothecary as a new class planned for Patch 17 in Q1 2027. The earlier Year 2 plan had included a Techmarine, but the roadmap changed and postponed content was carried into Year 3. The latest announcement identifies the Apothecary as the class expected in Patch 17; it does not say that the Techmarine is part of the same release window.

The publisher distinguishes gameplay updates from cosmetic DLC. Gameplay additions in the roadmap are described as free, and Focus explicitly said postponed Year 2 content would remain free when it rolled into Year 3. Season Passes, by contrast, add paid cosmetic packs; they are not presented as a requirement for access to roadmap gameplay.
