That is a striking release-week neighbor, especially on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which both games list as platforms. The dates make the timing notable; no announcement says the games’ teams chose them in response to one another.
Two November releases, nine days apart
Warhammer Community announced the November 10 date for Warhammer Survivors on October 6, 2026, alongside news of an updated demo. Rockstar’s official page lists GTA VI for November 19, 2026. The nine-day interval is calculated from those announced dates.
The overlap is more than calendar proximity: both games are listed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. But they are very different propositions. Warhammer Survivors is a roguelite action game built around arena combat, evolving weapons and growing enemy hordes, drawing on Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Rockstar describes GTA VI as a single-player story featuring Jason and Lucia. Shared launch platforms do not mean the games serve the same audience.
What to expect from Warhammer Survivors
Warhammer Community reports that the game includes over 40 playable characters and more than 70 weapons. Those are publisher-reported content counts, rather than independently verified totals. The official Steam listing identifies Auroch Digital as both developer and publisher and describes the game as single-player.

Try the demo
An updated demo is available on Steam and Xbox for PC, according to Warhammer Community. It includes two playable heroes: the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya.
Platforms and launch price
The announced platforms for Warhammer Survivors are PC via Steam and GOG, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. Auroch Digital lists launch prices of £6.39, $7.99 and €7.49, while noting that prices may vary slightly by platform and region. These are the listed prices, not a guarantee that every storefront or region will show the same amount.

A bold date, not proof of a head-to-head challenge
Designer Ellie Harrodine of Auroch Digital put the console timing plainly in a PlayStation Blog announcement published October 6, 2026: “Today, we’re excited to announce that Warhammer Survivors launches on PS5 November 10.” That places the game just over a week ahead of GTA VI on two of the same consoles.
Calling the timing audacious is a fair reaction to the calendar. It is not evidence of a deliberate challenge to Rockstar: neither announcement explains the date choice as a response to the other game. What is established is the unusually close sequence, the shared console platforms and a clear difference in format—compact roguelite arena action ahead of Rockstar’s single-player crime saga.
