Those accounts concern the 2022 Vanguard-era season—not the different Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 02 pass released in 2026.
What Warzone players reported in Season 2
A March 21, 2022 discussion on r/CODWarzone included players describing Battle Pass progression as too slow. One player said they had bought the pass without knowing its progression had been nerfed. That wording reflects the player’s interpretation, not proof that Activision or Raven Software intentionally reduced the earn rate.
The discussion is anecdotal: it shows that some players felt progress was slow, but it does not establish how many players were affected or how quickly the pass was advancing for the wider player base. No reliable measured rate or completion-time comparison for the 2022 complaint is available in the cited reports.
What was reported about a fix
On April 20, 2022, secondary coverage reported that Raven Software had corrected a Battle Pass XP issue affecting some Warzone players. The report said XP for prior matches was granted retroactively and that players who logged in before the season ended received two one-hour Double Battle Pass XP tokens. Because the original official notice is not available in the sources cited here, treat those details as a secondary report rather than independently confirmed official terms.

This reported fix makes a progression issue one plausible explanation for some players’ experience. It does not establish that every complaint came from the same bug, or that the system had been deliberately slowed.
Why current Battle Pass rules do not explain the 2022 complaint
Battle Pass mechanics change between games and seasons. Activision Support’s article dated April 2, 2025 describes the Black Ops 6-era system: XP earned across public modes in Black Ops 6, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile contributes to Battle Pass Tokens, which unlock tiers and advance pages. It also describes optional paid pass variants and says a season’s pass expires when the next season begins. These are rules for the system covered by that support article, not evidence of how the 2022 Vanguard-era pass worked.

The official Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 02 page describes another distinct pass. For that 2026 season, it lists the Battle Pass at 1,100 COD Points, the Battle Pass Bundle at 2,400 COD Points, and a 10% Battle Pass XP Boost among the base pass rewards. Those season-specific prices and benefits should not be used to interpret the 2022 reports.

The 2022 reports do not show that the same issue is active today. If a current pass appears not to advance, first confirm the game, season, and mode you are playing; then check official support information for that version rather than relying on old posts.

A controller or headset is not shown to increase Battle Pass progression. The relevant factors are the game’s season-specific XP rules and whether a bug is affecting the account or mode.
