Wasabi Hosting is worth considering if you want an inexpensive, managed game server and your players are mainly in Europe or the eastern United States. It advertises modern Ryzen hardware, NVMe storage, DDoS filtering, quick deployment and a proprietary control panel. But its formal uptime guarantee is 99.5%—not the 99.9% marketed on its homepage—and its three advertised locations are a poor fit for some global communities. The available evidence does not establish independent performance results or a long-term reliability record, so treat the specifications as provider claims, not proof that it is the “ultimate” host.

What Wasabi Hosting offers

Wasabi sells managed game servers as well as VPS, dedicated-server, web-hosting and colocation products. This review focuses on managed game hosting: you choose a game, plan and location, then administer the server through Wasabi’s panel rather than setting up the game environment yourself. The provider advertises more than 16 games, including:

  • Arma Reforger, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike 2
  • DayZ, Enshrouded, FiveM, Garry’s Mod and Hytale
  • Minecraft, Palworld, Rust, S&Box and SCP: Secret Laboratory
  • Squad, Unturned and Valheim

The game-server catalogue is the place to check a particular game’s current plans, versions, slots and supported features before ordering; those details differ by game.

Locations: choose for your players, not your own home

Wasabi advertises game-server locations in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Ashburn, Virginia. Amsterdam or Frankfurt may suit European communities; Ashburn is its listed US location. Which one gives the best latency depends on where your players are and how their internet providers route traffic. A location name alone cannot guarantee a particular ping.

  • Size: 7.6x4.9x0.78inch,6oz
  • Material: Made with high quality PU leather

Three locations are a limited footprint for a community concentrated in Asia-Pacific, Australia, South America or Africa. If most players are far from these sites, a provider with a nearby region is likely a better starting point, even if its hardware specifications look less impressive on paper.

Hardware and performance: promising specifications, limited allocation detail

Wasabi says its game nodes use AMD Ryzen 7950X3D and 9950X processors, DDR5 memory and NVMe storage. Its status page exposes a Ryzen 9950X node with 256 GB of DDR5 and enterprise NVMe drives. That provides an example of infrastructure, not confirmation that every game server runs on that exact configuration.

Fast CPUs and storage are relevant to latency-sensitive games, but node specifications do not tell you how much CPU time an individual plan receives or whether it is dedicated. Minecraft plan labels such as “100% CPU” and “300% CPU” are not defined in enough detail on the reviewed pages to establish the underlying allocation. Ask Wasabi what those percentages mean for the plan you are considering, particularly if you expect a busy or heavily modded server.

Nor does a large RAM allowance guarantee smooth play. Minecraft can lag because of CPU limits, entities, redstone, view distance or plugins; Rust performance depends on map size, entities, plugins and activity. Capacity claims should be treated as workload-dependent rather than as a promise for every configuration.

  • Versatile applications: this server wallet can be widely adopted for serving, cleaning, gardening, cooking, baking, crafting and more; In addition, it can hold various small tools, such as check pads, napkins, cards, pens, recipe cards, menus and so on

Setup and control-panel features

Wasabi advertises automatic deployment in approximately two minutes after payment. That is a provisioning target, not a guarantee that a playable, customized server will be ready within that time: payment review, stock, migration and game-specific setup can add delays. Its terms say orders may take longer when stock is unavailable, potentially up to seven working days before a refund is processed.

The provider describes an in-house panel for server configuration, version selection, supported plugin or mod installation, player management, backups and plan upgrades. Its Minecraft page also describes configuration-file controls and backup scheduling; the Minecraft configuration guide documents selectable Java options including Aikar’s Flags.

The reviewed information does not establish that every game has the same panel capabilities, or confirm the full availability of features such as SFTP, scheduled tasks, API access, role-based permissions or one-click modpack installation. Check the individual game’s documentation if any of those are essential. Wasabi says upgrades preserve files, worlds and configurations, but make a backup before changing a plan.

DDoS protection: useful mitigation, not immunity

Wasabi says its game servers use GCore’s always-on protected network and advertises more than 200 Tbps of filtering capacity. The figure describes the provider’s stated network capacity, not bandwidth reserved for an individual customer. Filtering can help keep a server reachable during volumetric attacks, but it cannot prevent ordinary crashes, plugin failures, exploits, misconfiguration or abusive in-game behavior. Wasabi’s SLA says it cannot guarantee protection against every attack pattern.

Plans and pricing

The reviewed pages displayed euro prices. They can change, so verify the checkout total and renewal terms before paying. Minecraft’s page displayed the following monthly plans; the introductory prices shown use code SPICE for 30% off the first month only.

Plan Regular monthly price First month shown with SPICE Advertised resources
Dirt €2.99 €2.09 2 GB DDR5, 30 GB NVMe, 100% CPU
Stone €5.99 €4.19 4 GB DDR5, 30 GB NVMe, 150% CPU
Iron €8.99 €6.29 6 GB DDR5, 30 GB NVMe, 200% CPU
Gold €11.99 €8.39 8 GB DDR5, 30 GB NVMe, 250% CPU
Diamond €14.99 €10.49 10 GB DDR5, 30 GB NVMe, 300% CPU
Netherite €22.50 €15.75 16 GB DDR5, 30 GB NVMe, 400% CPU

The introductory figure is not the recurring rate: Wasabi’s terms say promotional pricing applies to the specified initial term, with renewal at regular rates unless stated otherwise. The Minecraft page advertises discounts for longer billing periods; check the checkout page for the current amount and term.

Minecraft: slots are not a performance guarantee

The Minecraft page labels slots as unlimited, while its FAQ offers practical guidance of about 10 players for Basic, 40 for Standard and 100 for Premium. These are not equivalent promises: a lack of a hard slot counter does not mean a server can run any number of players smoothly. CPU allocation, RAM, plugins, view distance and world complexity all affect capacity. Modded servers often need more resources than vanilla ones, and changing a major game version can cause world or compatibility problems. Back up first. Wasabi’s documentation also cautions against setting online-mode=false except in an appropriate proxy configuration.

FiveM: check the slot-license requirement

The reviewed FiveM page listed the Street Hustler plan from €4.80 per month, with a first-month price of €3.36 shown at 30% off. It lists 48 player slots and discounts of 5% for quarterly, 10% for semi-annual and 20% for annual billing. Wasabi says hosting more than 48 slots requires a special Cfx.re license through Patreon, which must be applied in the server settings after ordering. Check licensing and resource compatibility before migrating; custom scripts may need troubleshooting outside the support Wasabi guarantees.

Rust: capacity depends on the workload

Wasabi advertises Rust hosting for 200+ players, support for Oxide/uMod, automatic updates, NVMe storage, DDoS protection and support for official forced wipes on the first Thursday of each month. The player figure is a provider-stated capability, not a universal capacity guarantee: map size, plugins, entity counts and activity matter. Updates and wipes can affect maps or plugins, so plan accordingly. The Rust page describes the game-specific offering.

Backups, expiry and refunds

Wasabi promotes automatic backups and snapshot restoration. The reviewed Minecraft plan page lists three backups and three databases, but that count should not be assumed for every game or plan. The terms place responsibility for maintaining backups on the customer, even where built-in backups are available. Download an independent copy of important worlds, databases and configuration files rather than relying on the host’s snapshots as your only recovery plan.

Services are paid in advance. According to the terms, a missed payment can lead to suspension the following day; if payment is not made within seven days of suspension, a server may be terminated, and data may be removed three days after expiry. Wasabi does not guarantee recovery after termination. Export data before expiry or cancellation, and check the billing interface for the status and deadline of a particular service.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For new orders other than dedicated servers, Wasabi states a 48-hour cooling-off/refund period; requests after that may be denied. Dedicated servers are described as non-refundable. Refund requests go through Wasabi support, with eligible refunds processed within seven business days. The terms also warn that payment disputes can trigger immediate termination. If you order, use the initial period to check the panel, location, required mods and real player workload rather than postponing that evaluation.

Uptime, SLA and support

Wasabi’s homepage markets 99.9% uptime, and its status page has displayed service-specific recent figures, including 99.995% for the website and game panel over a displayed 30-day period. Neither is the contractual game-server guarantee. The published SLA guarantees 99.5% network uptime in a 30-day period—equivalent to roughly 3 hours 36 minutes of downtime in a 30-day month.

The SLA’s service credits are capped at 5% of the monthly fee below 99.5%, 10% below 99% and 20% below 95%. A claim must be submitted within seven days after the affected billing period; credits apply to future invoices, not as cash refunds. Scheduled or emergency maintenance, customer applications, third-party software, force majeure and policy violations are among the exclusions. Read the full SLA to assess whether its commitment fits your needs.

Wasabi advertises 24/7 support through Discord and web channels. Its terms specify Discord tickets or email and an official non-SLA response time of 24 hours, while noting replies may be faster. Support covers Wasabi’s own services; help with third-party plugins, resources, code or software is not guaranteed. “24/7” should not be read as a promise of instant help debugging a modpack or custom script.

Who should consider Wasabi—and who should compare first?

Wasabi is a plausible fit if

  • Your players are mainly in Europe or the eastern United States.
  • You want managed setup and a game-specific panel instead of administering a Linux server.
  • You value a low entry price, modern advertised hardware and included DDoS filtering.
  • Your community is small or medium-sized and your game’s plan and feature page fits its needs.

Compare other options if

  • Your players are mostly in regions Wasabi does not advertise, or you need many global locations.
  • You require a formal 99.9% or higher SLA, substantial service-credit remedies or a stronger independently verified operating record.
  • You need guaranteed assistance with third-party plugins, scripts or custom code.
  • You cannot maintain off-site backups, need unrestricted root access, or require independently verified scaling for a large public server.

For wider geographic coverage, compare international hosts; for full root control, consider a VPS or dedicated server; for minimal administration, compare managed game specialists. Providers such as Apex Hosting, Shockbyte, PebbleHost and OVHcloud are comparison candidates, not a ranked recommendation here: their current prices, locations and game coverage have not been compared in this review. Wasabi also offers VPS and dedicated products, but they are not interchangeable with managed game hosting. A VPS gives more control and responsibility; its policy includes a limit on sustained CPU usage and a monthly bandwidth threshold, so check the VPS fair-use policy before choosing it for a game server.

Verdict

Wasabi’s strongest case is straightforward: an affordable managed server, modern advertised infrastructure, DDoS filtering and convenient locations for much of Europe and the US East Coast. Its weaker points are equally material: a narrow location footprint, a 99.5% contractual uptime commitment, customer responsibility for independent backups, limited guaranteed help for third-party software, and insufficient public evidence to verify performance under sustained load. Choose it when the location and game-specific plan suit your community, and evaluate the service promptly; choose another provider if geographic reach, stricter contractual uptime or hands-on mod support is essential.
