Attunements in Deepwoken are elemental paths that give a character access to related Mantras, Talents, and Elemental Weapons. They are a build choice, not just a label: you can select a starting attunement during character creation or unlock additional ones through trainers and their quests.
Which attunements can you choose?
Community references list four base attunements and three that can be unlocked through progression. The Fandom attunement guide notes that a May 15, 2026 update made the four base options available to new players at character creation. Availability and exact character-creation behavior can change with patches, so treat that date as update context rather than a guarantee about every later version.

The Wikidot attunements page lists these categories but identifies itself as a stub. Attunementless means playing without an attunement; it is not an eighth elemental discipline.
What does an attunement do?
An attunement is one part of a character build. It determines access to associated Mantras, Talents, and Elemental Weapons. The abilities available within a path can serve different roles, so the useful question is whether its options support your intended combat approach, mobility, or support needs—not simply which element sounds strongest.

Deepwoken Builder provides searchable directories of attunements and paths. Its listed path variants include Azure Flames, Eruption Path: Lava Serpent, Glass Path: Crystallization, Surge Path: Unstable Capacitor, Haunted Path: Specter, Gilded Path: Scrapsinger, and Wraith Path: Twisted Puppets. Treat the directory as a way to inspect options and requirements, not as a ranking of their strength.
How do you get an attunement?
Choose one at character creation
Character creation is one way to start with an attunement. The Fandom guide’s May 15, 2026 update note says the four base attunements became available to new players there; because this is a community-maintained account of a patch, check the live character-creation screen if the exact current choices matter.

Unlock another through a trainer
Trainers around Lumen can teach additional attunements after a quest. These quests commonly involve collecting elemental ingredients, but requirements differ by attunement. The Fandom guide gives examples for the four base elements: Dying Embers for Flamecharm, Frigid Prisms for Frostdraw, Spark Glands for Thundercall, and Gale Stones for Galebreathe. It describes Ironsing as a more involved case. See the Fandom potion reference for ingredient context; confirm the current quest with the relevant in-game trainer, since community wiki details can lag updates.
What does investing points in an attunement change?

These are upgrade thresholds reported by the Fandom attunement guide; they do not mean each extra point adds an identical amount of damage to every ability. Character points are limited, so investing in another attunement competes with points you might allocate to weapons or other attributes.
How should you choose one for a build?
There is no well-supported universal “best” attunement in these references. The right fit depends on your planned build and the options available in the game version you are playing. Compare choices by checking:

- Point budget: Decide how much of your finite attribute investment can go to the attunement without undermining weapon or other attribute plans.
- Role and playstyle: Check whether the listed abilities serve the combat, mobility, or support role you want. The Mantra directory organizes abilities by role.
- Unlock effort: If you want an additional attunement, check its trainer quest and ingredient requirements rather than assuming every unlock works the same way.
Exact unlock details and balance are patch-sensitive, and the cited references do not establish a current performance ranking. Choose around the build you want to play, then verify volatile requirements in the live game.
