Everdark Sovereign Expeditions are tougher, limited-time versions of ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN’s Nightlord fights. They add new moves and increased power, and defeating one awards Sovereign Sigils for special Relics and other items. The original rules also required an online connection—even for solo play—and required you to have defeated that Nightlord’s regular version first.
How Everdark Sovereign Expeditions differ from regular Nightlord fights
Bandai Namco described Everdark Sovereigns as limited-time Nightlord versions that pose a greater threat to Nightfarers through new moves and increased power. The announcement does not quantify changes to health, damage, or difficulty, so there is no official numerical comparison to make. Bandai Namco’s announcement explains the changes.

How to unlock an Everdark Sovereign Expedition
- Defeat the regular version of the Nightlord you want to challenge. Under the announced rules, that victory was a prerequisite for facing its Everdark form.
- Connect online and check which Everdark Expedition is available. Bandai Namco said the mode was online-only, but solo play remained possible while online.
- Choose the available Everdark Expedition and challenge its Sovereign. The original announcement described these as limited-time encounters; the prerequisite and availability details here reflect those announced rules, not a verified live schedule.
What Sovereign Sigils are used for
Defeating an Everdark Sovereign awarded Sovereign Sigils, with extra Sigils for the first victory. The Sigils could be exchanged for special Relics and other items. The announcement does not give a complete item list or specify current exchange costs, so check the in-game shop for the options available to your account.
Which Everdark Sovereigns were announced
The initial June 18, 2025 announcement named Gaping Jaw, Sentient Pest, and Darkdrift Knight as the first group, with Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog to follow. The initial announcement set out that rollout.

On July 31, 2025, Bandai Namco announced a new cycle featuring Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog. It identified Augur’s Everdark form as Maris, Fathom of Night. The cycle announcement is a record of that historical schedule.
Earlier returns also paired encounters across three successive weeks: Gaping Jaw with Darkdrift Knight from July 10–17, 2025; Sentient Pest with Darkdrift Knight from July 17–24; and Gaping Jaw with Sentient Pest from July 24–31. Those dates document past rotations, not a current calendar. Bandai Namco’s return announcement lists the pairings.

How to check what is available now
The official game page, accessed October 5, 2026, lists the game as available and shows updates through March 2026, but it does not establish the current Everdark rotation. Check the official game page for game information, then rely on a contemporaneous in-game notice or official announcement to confirm which Expedition is live. The 2025 schedules above cannot answer that current-availability question.
