Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a 24/7 pre-recorded YouTube Live stream at 1080p, use YouTube’s recommended live-ingest bitrate for the actual codec and frame rate: 14 Mbps for H.264 at 30 fps, 17 Mbps for H.264 at 60 fps, 10 Mbps for AV1 or H.265/HEVC at 30 fps, or 12 Mbps for AV1 or H.265/HEVC at 60 fps. These are live-stream ingest settings, not recommendations for uploading a finished video. Running continuously does not call for a higher bitrate; codec, resolution and frame rate determine the setting.
Choose the bitrate for your codec and frame rate
| 1080p live-ingest format | YouTube recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|
| H.264, 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
| H.264, 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC, 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC, 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s published recommended values for live ingest; the reviewed guidance does not state a publication year (accessed 2026). Use the 30 fps row when the encoder sends 30 fps. Use the 60 fps row only when it actually sends 60 fps. YouTube transcodes the incoming live feed into playback formats for different devices.
A 24/7 schedule does not alter the appropriate row. Do not substitute YouTube’s uploaded-video encoding recommendations: this is a live feed sent to YouTube’s ingest service.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Resolution and frame rate: 1920×1080 at the source’s actual frame rate.
- Video bitrate: Choose the matching rate from the table above.
- Rate control: CBR (constant bitrate).
- Keyframes: Set an interval of 2 seconds. YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Protocol: Use RTMPS where supported.
- Audio: Use AAC or MP3 over RTMP/RTMPS. YouTube lists 128 kbps for stereo audio.
- Stream key: In the encoder, enter the stream key associated with the YouTube Live stream you intend to send. Keep it private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to that stream.
Test with audio and motion similar to the planned content, then check YouTube’s stream health. A bitrate that matches the recommendation cannot prevent interruptions caused by a stalled source, encoder or network. YouTube’s advice is to “choose a quality that will result in a reliable stream based on your internet connection.” YouTube Live encoder settings
Allow enough upload bandwidth
YouTube advises keeping about 20% upload capacity beyond the total outgoing stream bitrate. That margin is for the connection; it does not mean adding 20% to the encoder’s chosen video bitrate.

For example, a 14 Mbps video stream needs about 16.8 Mbps of available upload capacity under that rule, before adding audio bitrate, any separate backup feed, or other traffic on the connection. Make sure this capacity is available consistently, not just in a one-off speed test. Network disruptions can break a live stream. Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit
A single continuous 24-hour broadcast exceeds YouTube’s 12-hour automatic-archive window. YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its separate DVR guidance also warns that rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams. These are archive and DVR constraints, not reasons to change the live-ingest bitrate.

If a dependable video-on-demand archive or rewind matters, use shorter broadcast sessions and keep a local recording as a backup. Check the current guidance before planning around a particular archive or DVR behavior: YouTube live-stream archives · YouTube DVR settings.
Choose how to send prerecorded video to YouTube Live
Use an encoder you already have
YouTube accepts encoder-based streaming with software or hardware encoders. Configure the encoder for the selected resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, CBR and keyframe interval, then connect it to the YouTube Live stream with its stream key. This approach gives you control over the feed, but the computer or hardware encoder, source playback and internet connection must keep working for the broadcast to continue.

- Each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot without re-encoding or quality tiers.
- Each slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team.
- The first day is free, with no card required (one free day per account). Billing can be for a day, a week, a month, 6 months or a year, and you can cancel any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For 5 or more slots, contact support.
All plans include the same product; only the billing period changes. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. To start the free day, create a StreamNeo account.
Common bitrate and stream problems
- The stream buffers or drops: Check whether sustained upload capacity covers the video and audio bitrates plus YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Reduce other network traffic or choose a lower appropriate output configuration if the connection cannot sustain the target rate.
- The image looks poor despite a stable connection: Verify that the encoder is sending 1080p and the intended frame rate and codec, and that it is using the corresponding live-ingest bitrate. Do not use a 60 fps recommendation for a 30 fps feed.
- YouTube reports a stream-health problem: Check encoder output, source playback and network stability; run a test with representative motion and audio, and review YouTube’s stream-health guidance. The bitrate alone does not diagnose a stalled encoder or source.
- The 24-hour stream has no complete archive or rewind: A continuous session is longer than YouTube’s 12-hour archive window, and DVR may be limited on very long streams. Use shorter sessions if archive or rewind is important.
Copyright and the right to stream the recording
Having a prerecorded file does not by itself establish permission to broadcast its audio or video. Before scheduling a 24/7 stream, confirm that you own or have the rights needed for the content, including music, gameplay footage and other third-party material. YouTube’s copyright and live-stream policies can affect whether a stream remains available; review the current rules and use the copyright safety checklist before going live.
