Esports sponsors include gaming-hardware makers, energy-drink brands, and companies in fields such as retail, automotive, logistics, and entertainment. Recent official examples include ASUS ROG with Team Vitality, Razer with 100 Thieves, Sony INZONE with the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS), and Red Bull with VCT EMEA and DreamHack Festivals. Each deal has its own scope and term: a championship sponsor is not automatically a year-round league or team sponsor.
Which brands sponsor esports?
These examples show how varied esports sponsorship can be. The property and activation matter as much as the brand name: a sponsor might supply equipment to a team, appear in a league broadcast, or run activities at one festival.

What does an esports sponsorship cover?
“Esports sponsor” can describe several different relationships. To understand what a deal actually means, check the property, season, geography, and activity named in the announcement.
- Team: A company may support a particular organization or roster, often with equipment or branded placements. ASUS ROG’s Team Vitality announcement, for example, specifies peripherals and named products.
- League: A league partner may be associated with recurring broadcasts or community programming for a defined competition and term. Red Bull’s VCT EMEA deal names the league and the 2025–2026 period.
- Tournament: A championship sponsor list applies to that event. It should not be read as a league-wide or permanent relationship.
- Festival: A festival partnership can include event-wide branding and activations, as in Red Bull’s DreamHack Festivals deal.
Announcements may identify placements such as jerseys, equipment, broadcast segments, booths, or community events. They do not necessarily disclose a deal’s financial value; the examples above provide no basis for ranking sponsors by assumed spending.

Why are non-gaming brands involved?
Esports events attract audiences and offer ways for sponsors to connect with fans beyond gaming products. Energy drinks are a visible example, but DreamHack’s partner roster also includes brands from categories such as automotive, logistics, apparel, and technology. An event can also feature local or host-city activations alongside equipment and platform partners.
The ALGS Year 5 Championship illustrates that mix: its event page combines gaming hardware and chair partners with Google Play and Sapporo activations. That combination describes one event’s sponsor roster, not a universal formula for esports events.

What should fans make of a sponsor or product deal?
A sponsorship tells you that a brand and an esports property have a commercial relationship; it does not establish that a product is best for fans or that players use it because of an independent review. ASUS’s announcement names the ROG Falchion Ace HFX as equipment used by Team Vitality’s CS2 and VALORANT teams, but that is not a recommendation that fans need that keyboard. Use sponsorships as context, then evaluate products on their own features, fit, and price.
Are esports sponsorship rules the same everywhere?
No. Publisher policies can limit sponsor categories by game, competition tier, region, and placement. Riot’s announcement about betting sponsorships is one example: it opened the category to vetted and approved partners for Tier 1 League of Legends and VALORANT teams in the Americas and EMEA, with safeguards including use of GRID data. Riot also said its own broadcasts and social channels would remain betting-free, with no betting ads, sponsored segments, or betting partner logos on team jerseys. How to check whether a sponsor relationship is current
- Identify the exact property: team, league, tournament, or festival.
- Read the term and season in the announcement, and check whether the stated dates have passed.
- Confirm the geography and game or competition tier when the deal or rules are region-specific.
- Look for a current official sponsor or partner page. The ALGS sponsor page is distinct from the Year 5 Championship event page, which describes a particular event.
Partnerships change, and a historic announcement alone cannot confirm a deal is still active. For a current roster, prefer the property’s official sponsor page where available.
