Actor traits and requests affect casting: they determine which roles actors will accept, who they will perform alongside, and—in some levels—which costumes they want. For example, an actor who wants to play a princess cannot simply be assigned a non-royal role if you want a fitting cast.
How actor requests shape role assignments
I Want To Play The Villain asks you to match actors with roles while meeting their demands. A preference such as wanting a princess role or a non-royal character makes that actor’s role assignment a constraint in the puzzle, rather than a free choice.
Pocket Gamer’s first-impressions review describes visual feedback for assignments: a green comedy-mask indicator marks a fitting match, while a red tragedy-mask indicator marks a mismatch. The review says you can rearrange the cast until everyone is satisfied rather than lose because of an unsuitable assignment. Pocket Gamer’s review
Requests can govern the company and costumes too
Who performs together
Some actors refuse to perform alongside particular individuals. That means a role match that suits one actor may still leave the overall cast invalid if the company includes someone they will not work with. The task is to find a combination that satisfies the actors’ requests together.

Which costume an actor wants
Other requests concern costume style. In levels with a finite costume supply, you must account for both the actors’ role assignments and the available costumes. The review reports these added conditions as sources of more difficult, sometimes conflicting, casting puzzles.
How later levels vary the casting puzzle
The review also describes levels with additional scenes and story snippets in which players can change characters or roles in the play. These formats extend the assignment problem beyond a single standard four-person cast. Its account is a first-impressions overview, not a complete official rules reference, so it does not establish whether other request types or hidden scoring rules exist.
