Keep the Decanter Spiritus and use it to complete the optional Act 3 quest A Swig of Hope. Collect Chitus’ Plum in the Imperial Gardens, then take both quest items to Captain Fairgraves in the Docks.
How to use the Decanter Spiritus
- Keep the Decanter Spiritus. It is a quest item found in an Ornate Chest in the Marketplace.
- Collect Chitus’ Plum. If you do not have it yet, search for it in the Imperial Gardens.
- Return to Captain Fairgraves in the Docks with both items to complete A Swig of Hope.
- Claim your reward. The quest guide lists ring options; it does not establish which choice is best for a particular build.
What the item is for
The Decanter Spiritus is a Path of Exile quest item, not a real-world drinking vessel. It is used with Chitus’ Plum for A Swig of Hope, an optional Act 3 quest. Captain Fairgraves explains its fictional purpose: “Liquid placed in this crystal decanter becomes quasi-apparitional in nature.” He uses the plum and decanter to make what he calls the “Imperial Nightcap.”
If the quest does not match your progress
Quest locations and rewards are described by community-maintained item and quest references, rather than a current official patch note. If the layout or quest text differs in your version, use the in-game quest tracker to check what remains to be collected or turned in.
