If you cancel EA Play, you normally keep its benefits until your current subscription period ends. After that, Play List games you don’t own separately become unavailable, but EA says your save progress remains if you haven’t deleted the save files. A game appearing in your library does not necessarily mean you can still play it.
What happens after you cancel EA Play?
Cancellation usually schedules the end of your membership rather than cutting off access immediately. EA says benefits continue through the end of the current membership period. For an EA app PC membership, check the next billing date in your account; EA says the payment method is not removed until that date, and you can reverse cancellation before then. EA’s cancellation guidance and its EA Play terms explain the timing.
Some games may remain visible in the EA app library until the membership expires. That visibility is not proof that you own the game or will retain access after expiry.
What happens when the membership period ends?
When your paid period or trial ends, access to games available only through The Play List and other membership benefits ends unless you have another entitlement to the title on that platform. To play again, you can buy the game separately or rejoin EA Play. A Play List download is access through the membership, not ownership of the game.

Do you keep your progress and purchases?
Save progress
EA Help says: “You’ll keep your game progress if you don’t manually delete your save files.” If you later buy the game or rejoin, EA says you can pick up where you left off. This does not guarantee that every game’s online features, platform compatibility, or upgraded-version saves will work identically.
Games and in-game content
Games you purchased separately remain yours; membership-only access to a Play List title does not. EA’s terms also distinguish completed purchases from subscription-dependent benefits: purchases made with the 10% EA Play member discount remain yours, while some benefits—including game upgrades and in-game purchases in a Play List title—may become unavailable when the membership or trial ends unless you separately have access to that title on the platform.

What if you did not cancel and a payment fails?
EA’s published guidance establishes that benefits depend on an active membership, but it does not establish one universal failed-payment grace period or outcome across all platforms. Check your account and the billing platform for the current membership status rather than assuming access ends immediately or continues for a fixed number of days.
Where to cancel or resolve a billing issue
Use the account that billed you. EA directs EA app PC members to the EA Account’s Subscriptions and Memberships area. If you subscribed through Steam, Epic, PlayStation, or Xbox, EA says to contact that platform’s support for cancellation issues. Menu names and billing steps depend on where you purchased the membership. EA’s cancellation instructions cover these routes.

Can you get a refund?
EA Help says EA Play memberships are generally non-refundable, with exceptions. EA’s Terms of Sale describe a 14-day withdrawal right for specified regions, including the EEA (with Germany treated separately in the page’s heading), the UK, Brazil, Japan, and South Korea. Under the cited terms, using an EA Play benefit or downloading content within those 14 days removes that withdrawal right. Eligible refunds are issued within 14 days of a claim, according to the terms. Rules depend on your location and purchase platform, so cancellation by itself should not be treated as a refund request or guarantee.
