What does ignoring a Roblox friend request do?
Roblox documents two ways to handle a request: accept or decline. It does not describe a separate “ignore” control, so leaving a request alone means neither action has been taken. Roblox says requests expire after two years, though its support page does not specify the exact expiration time or what happens on the sender’s side as expiration approaches. Will the sender know if you ignore the request?
Roblox says the sender receives a notification when you accept. Its friend-request guidance does not explain whether the sender can see an unanswered request as pending, receives any other notice, or is notified when it expires. So the available official guidance does not establish what the sender sees when you leave a request alone.
A sender not receiving an acceptance notice does not, by itself, prove that you ignored the request. Roblox also lists possible delivery barriers, including account friend or request limits, suspected bot activity, and an age-check-related restriction for some users in Australia. The support article gives no further details about the sender’s view in those cases.

How to review or respond to a pending request
- Open Add Friends in Roblox.
- Review the requests shown there.
- Choose whether to accept or decline each request. Roblox says that if no number appears beside Add Friends, there are no pending friend requests.
You can also respond during an experience: Roblox says a pop-up may offer accept and decline options, and the leaderboard provides a way to accept or decline. Roblox Support: How to make friends.
Friend requests and notifications are separate
Roblox lists Friend Request Received as a Social notification type. To inspect its available delivery channels, go to Settings → Notifications → Social → Friend Request Received. The available channels can vary by notification type. These controls govern notification delivery; Roblox’s guidance does not say that turning off a channel declines or deletes the request. When to block instead
If you want to prevent contact from someone who is harassing, bullying, or spamming you, blocking is different from leaving a request unanswered. Roblox says blocking prevents direct contact such as friend requests, removes the users from each other’s friend or follower lists, and does not notify the blocked user.
