Fortnite cosmetics you already earned stay associated with your Epic account; an earned reward you forgot to claim is added to your Locker the next time you log in, provided you reached its required level. An expired Pass itself cannot be bought or progressed. Getting an unowned item later is a separate question: some items from future Battle Passes might return to the Item Shop under Epic’s 2024 policy, but no individual return is guaranteed. For crossover skins, licensing can affect availability, but Epic’s general terms do not establish the fate of any specific skin.
What happens to rewards you already earned?
Ending a season does not by itself remove rewards you earned from its Pass. Epic Games Support says an unclaimed reward is added to your Locker the next time you log in, as long as you reached the level required to earn it. In other words, forgetting to press the claim button is different from not earning the reward: Epic’s unclaimed-rewards guidance covers the former, not missed levels or rewards you did not qualify for.
Cosmetics are tied to the Epic account where they were obtained. Epic says players cannot manually transfer them between accounts, and trading is unsupported. They are licensed digital content, rather than items that can be moved or sold between players.
Can you buy or continue an expired Pass?
No. Epic says a Pass from a season that has ended cannot be purchased or progressed. That does not prevent a separate Item Shop sale of an eligible item later; the Pass’s expiration and an individual cosmetic’s possible Shop availability are different matters. Could an unowned Battle Pass skin return to the Item Shop?
Possibly, depending on the item and the Pass. In an announcement published August 7, 2024, Epic said items in future Battle Passes might be offered for purchase in the Fortnite Shop 18 or more months after the Pass expires. The threshold is a possible earliest window, not a scheduled sale or promise that an item will return. Epic says Shop selection is discretionary and no individual Battle Pass item is guaranteed to appear.
The policy is broader than Outfits: Epic listed categories including Back Blings, Pickaxes, Emotes, Instruments, Decals, Wraps, Loading Screens, and Banner Icons. It also said Bonus Rewards and Quest Rewards may be included after the same threshold. If an item will never be available outside its Pass, Epic says it will be identified as such. The announcement applies to future Passes under the change; it is not a blanket statement that all older Pass exclusives qualify. Epic Support describes the change as starting with Chapter 5 Season 4.

Do crossover skins disappear when a collaboration ends?
There is no general rule in the cited information that a crossover skin is removed from a player’s Locker when a promotion or season ends. Epic’s terms treat in-game content as licensed and say an offer may be removed if a license contract ends and Epic no longer has distribution rights. They also state that continued access to specific content is not guaranteed.
Those terms describe a general possibility, not the outcome for a named collaboration. They do not establish that a particular crossover skin will be removed, return to the Shop, or become permanently unavailable. Without an item-specific Epic announcement, avoid treating a licensing clause as a prediction about any one skin. Epic’s End User License Agreement is versioned; applicable terms can vary by region and may change.

What to check if a skin is missing
- For a recently ended Pass: Confirm you reached the reward’s required level, then log in to the Epic account that earned it. Epic says qualifying unclaimed rewards are delivered to the Locker at next login.
- For an item you never earned: Check the current Item Shop and Epic’s return policy. Support cannot grant an item or offer that is not currently available in the Shop.
- For an account or transfer issue: Check that you are signed in to the account where the cosmetic was obtained. Epic does not support manual cosmetic transfers or trading.
- For a crossover’s future availability: Look for an item-specific official announcement. General licensing terms alone do not reveal a particular skin’s schedule or fate.
