A new release date can change when a game becomes playable, but it does not by itself confirm whether the game is still included with Game Pass, which plans or platforms qualify, or whether it is available in your region. Check the game’s current Xbox listing and the latest official announcement for those details.
Does a new date mean the game is still coming to Game Pass?
Not necessarily—and the date change alone does not answer the question. Microsoft’s official Game Pass catalog separates titles listed as Coming to Game Pass from other catalog entries, and warns that titles, features, and availability vary by time, region, plan, and platform. Check the specific game’s current listing and its latest official announcement rather than assuming that an earlier announcement still applies.
Xbox Wire announcements can also be updated. In a July 7, 2026 roundup, Xbox listed games under “Coming Soon”; an editor’s note dated July 13 said Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 had been removed from the list. That example shows why an old roundup or cached date may no longer reflect the current schedule. It does not establish why a title was removed or what will happen with other delayed games. Read the Xbox Wire announcement.
Why a visible Store page may not let you download the game
A product page being visible is not the same as a game being released or available to acquire. Microsoft’s publishing schedule guidance distinguishes when a product is discoverable in the Store from its release time, when it becomes purchasable and usable. A page can therefore appear before release without letting customers acquire or download the product. Check the current release date and availability status, not just whether the page exists.

What to check for your plan, platform, and region
Use the affected game’s current Xbox Store or Game Pass listing and the newest official Xbox announcement. Check these details separately, since availability can vary across them:
- Release date: Look for the latest announced date and whether the title is actually released.
- Game Pass inclusion and plan: Confirm that the listing currently includes the game and identifies a plan you have.
- Platform: Verify that the game is available through Game Pass on the platform you use.
- Region: Check the listing for your region; another subscriber’s catalog may differ.
Do not treat a previous “coming soon” announcement as proof that every Game Pass subscriber will receive the game on its new date. The official catalog says availability varies, and the sources do not establish a universal rule that a delayed title remains included, arrives on day one, or qualifies for compensation.

Could there be a delay after the game goes live?
Microsoft documents a separate technical lag in its Game Development Kit guidance: after a title or add-on goes live in Game Pass, client availability may appear before the publisher’s publisherQuery entitlement check reflects it. The documented possible lag is two to three hours. This is a backend reporting detail, not evidence that the public launch date has changed again, and Microsoft does not promise that a player-facing availability problem will be fixed within that time. Microsoft’s entitlement documentation explains the distinction.

If the game still appears unavailable
- Open the game’s current Xbox listing and the latest official Xbox announcement; check the date, Game Pass inclusion, plan, platform, and region.
- If the page is visible but the game cannot be downloaded, check whether its release time has arrived. Store discoverability alone does not mean it can be acquired.
- If the title has gone live but an entitlement check reports no access, distinguish that publisher-side reporting issue from the game’s public release status. The documented two-to-three-hour lag concerns
publisherQuery, not a guaranteed player-facing resolution time.
