Pokémon has not published a universal technical definition for the code, so it does not reliably identify one cause or one fix. The official response for a documented 2023 update incident was to reinstall the game; for an error that continues, Pokémon moderators have directed players to contact Pokémon Support.
What Error 10099 means
The code has appeared in player reports about being unable to access or load Pokémon TCG Live. Pokémon’s official forum has not defined it as a specific account, network, or installation fault, so the code alone cannot tell you what is wrong in an individual case.
Pokémon documented one specific occurrence after an update in November 2023. The company said it had identified the cause and scheduled emergency maintenance to deploy a fix; that maintenance was reported complete on November 3, 2023. This establishes what happened in that incident, not that every later Error 10099 has the same cause. Read the official incident notice.
What to try if you see Error 10099
Reinstall the game if the problem began after an update
For the November 2023 incident, Pokémon advised affected players to uninstall and reinstall the game on their computer or mobile device. That was guidance for that update-related problem, not a guaranteed fix for every occurrence.

Contact Pokémon Support if it continues
Official moderator replies in 2024 and 2025 directed players with continuing Error 10099 reports to Pokémon Support, including reports involving iPhone, mobile, and PC. Include the affected device and operating system, when the problem started, whether it also occurs on another device, and a screenshot or the exact error text if available. Those details help describe the issue; support has not promised a universal user-side fix. See the 2025 support direction, the iPhone report, and the mobile and PC report.

- A 2023 maintenance fix does not prove that a later report is caused by the same issue or that maintenance is currently underway.
- Forum reports do not establish how common the error is, which platforms are affected overall, or a complete meaning for the code.
- Account-permission resets, editing game files, clearing caches, VPN use, and changing region or time settings are not verified as official fixes by the cited Pokémon guidance.
If you are checking whether Pokémon has announced an active incident, consult its current official notices or support channels; the historical forum posts do not establish the game’s present service status.
