Error BN-115 is generally shown when a player tries to log in to Overwatch on a console while Blizzard’s servers are down, according to Blizzard Support. It points to a possible service interruption—not proof that your console or home internet is faulty.
What BN-115 means
Blizzard Support describes BN-115 as an error generally presented during a console login attempt while servers are down. “Generally” matters: the code is associated with that situation, but it does not establish the cause of every individual login failure.
Historical reports on the Overwatch forums in June 2022 connected BN-115 with wider login or authentication trouble. Players also reported the code during a March 25, 2026 disruption, including reports from different regions and on console and PC. These are player accounts, not a diagnosis of every occurrence; they also do not show that servers are down now.
What to do if you see BN-115
-
Check Blizzard’s current service notices. If Blizzard reports an interruption, the likely next step is to wait for service to return.

Does BN-115 mean your internet or console is broken?
No. The code alone does not diagnose a problem with your local connection or console. Blizzard’s description instead associates it with console login attempts while servers are down. The historical forum reports are consistent with broader login or authentication disruptions, but they cannot determine what is happening in an individual player’s case.
