Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Error code 2811 is a prefix, not a complete diagnosis. Nintendo documents several different eShop errors beginning with 2811, including a video that will not load, a timed-out network connection, and software unavailable for an account’s region or because it has not been released. Check every digit after the hyphen before choosing a fix.
Start by recording the full error and what you were doing
Write down the complete code, including its suffix—for example, 2811-1028—and note whether it appeared while opening Nintendo eShop, loading a video, purchasing or downloading software, or using another online service. The suffix and the situation help distinguish a connection issue from a video, region, or release-availability issue.
The examples below are documented Nintendo Support codes, not a complete catalogue. If your full code is not listed, search Nintendo Support for that exact code or contact Nintendo Support rather than assuming it has the same cause as another 2811 error.
Match the full code to the right next step
| Full code | What Nintendo says it indicates | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 2811-2806 | An eShop video could not load. Nintendo says this generally involves communication with the video-hosting server, or the video may have been removed. Nintendo states that this code does not indicate an issue with the console. Nintendo Support | Continue using the console and try the video again later. |
| 2811-1028 | The connection to Nintendo eShop generally timed out. Nintendo notes slow download speeds or a poor wireless environment or weak signal as common factors. Nintendo Support | Try the network checks below: improve the console’s wireless signal, power-cycle the home network, and test the internet connection. |
| 2811-7002 or 2811-7003 | Nintendo UK describes these as online-service connection errors likely related to the network environment; possible causes include DNS, wireless interference, a weak signal, or an unresponsive router. Nintendo UK Support | Check Nintendo’s network status, restart the console and home network, test alternate DNS if appropriate, and test the console near the router. |
| 2811-6006 | The product is unavailable in eShop with the Nintendo Account’s current country or region setting. Nintendo Support | Check that the account’s country or region is correct. |
| 2811-6001 | Nintendo Americas Support addresses software that is currently unavailable; the software may not yet be released in the Americas, or it may be an attempt to download from another region’s eShop. Nintendo Support | Check the game or DLC’s release availability in the Americas and try again later if it is not yet available. |
For network-related 2811 codes, try low-risk checks first
Use this branch for codes Nintendo describes as connection or timeout problems, such as 2811-1028, 2811-7002, or 2811-7003. These steps do not apply to a code that points to a video, region setting, or release availability.
#1 Best Overall

- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
- Check service status. For 2811-7002 or 2811-7003, Nintendo UK recommends checking Nintendo’s network status before changing settings.
- Restart the affected devices. Restart the console and power-cycle the home network equipment as appropriate, then retry the action.
- Check the connection and signal. Test the console’s internet connection. If the wireless signal is weak, move the console closer to the router and retry.
- For 2811-7002 or 2811-7003, consider alternate DNS. Nintendo UK includes trying alternate DNS among its troubleshooting steps. If you change a network setting, note the original value so you can restore it if needed.
If the exact code remains, use Nintendo Support’s guidance for that code or contact Nintendo Support. The documented guidance does not establish that replacing networking hardware is a default fix for an unspecified 2811 error.
For region and release codes, check availability instead of the network
For 2811-6006, verify that the Nintendo Account country or region matches the intended eShop. For 2811-6001, check whether the game or downloadable content has been released in the Americas. Nintendo’s guidance for these codes points to account-region or software-availability conditions; changing wireless settings is not the relevant first step.

Do not generalize from the 2811 prefix
Nintendo’s documented 2811 codes have different meanings. In particular, its statement that the console itself is not the issue applies to 2811-2806, the video-loading error—not to every code beginning with 2811. Use the complete code to select the matching guidance, and do not infer a cause for an unlisted suffix.
