Speed Acceleration is a touch rotation mode in Call of Duty: Mobile in which the camera turns more sharply when you swipe faster. A slow, deliberate swipe produces a smaller turn than a quick flick, so the same finger distance can move the view by different amounts depending on how fast you move. Players usually compare it with Fixed Speed and Distance Acceleration, the two other rotation modes discussed in community guides.
How Speed Acceleration changes camera rotation
The mode ties camera sensitivity to swipe velocity. In community explanations, a fast swipe turns the view quickly and a slow swipe turns it gently, even when both swipes cover the same distance on screen. The practical effect is that you can make fine corrections while tracking a target with a slow drag and still spin around quickly with a flick.
This describes camera rotation only. Speed Acceleration does not change how fast your character moves across the map, and it is not a movement setting. Confusing the two is the most common mistake in player discussions of the topic.
How it differs from the other two modes
The three rotation modes differ in the input they respond to. Each description below comes from community explanations, not from an official COD Mobile guide.

The practical difference is in what you control. Fixed Speed keeps the response predictable from one swipe to the next. Distance Acceleration rewards long drags. Speed Acceleration rewards a quick motion, which is why players who flick to turn often prefer it and players who track targets with slow, steady drags sometimes prefer a steadier mode.

Several details remain unverified, and you should not treat community descriptions as settled specifications:

- The exact formula. No official explanation of how acceleration values map to rotation speed was found, so the curve between swipe speed and turn angle is unknown.
- Current menu labels and location. Sensitivity options are usually grouped in the game’s control settings, but the exact label and path for the current client were not confirmed. Check your own game before following any written navigation steps.
- Platform and version coverage. Mode availability and behavior may differ by device, control layout, or game version. One community post refers to a beta context, so its details may not match the live client.
- A best value. Player recommendations conflict and depend on play style, grip, and device. No value has been shown to improve accuracy or ranking.
The description of Speed Acceleration above comes from a community channel post and a 2020 Reddit discussion that explains all three modes. Both are player-written guidance, not developer documentation.
How to test the mode on your own device
Because no universal setting is established, the reliable approach is a side-by-side test. Change one variable at a time and use low-stakes practice time rather than ranked matches.

- Open the game’s control or sensitivity settings and note the current rotation mode and all sensitivity values, so you can restore them.
- Select Speed Acceleration and leave every other value unchanged.
- In a low-stakes practice setting, perform two tasks: a slow tracking drag that follows a moving target across the screen, and a quick turn of roughly half a circle.
- Repeat the same two tasks with Fixed Speed and Distance Acceleration, changing only the rotation mode each time.
- Keep the mode where the slow corrections feel controllable and the quick turns feel fast enough for how you play. If neither task feels comfortable, adjust only the sensitivity value for the mode you chose, one step at a time.
This is a practical way to compare modes on your own hardware. It is not a tested method, and it does not guarantee better aim.

- Advice that names a single “perfect” number for Speed Acceleration is describing one player’s setup.
- Claims that a mode improves accuracy or rank are not supported by controlled comparisons.
- Posts from older game versions can describe menus and behavior that have since changed.
When a recommendation sounds specific, check whether the poster states their device, control layout, and game version. If they do not, treat the advice as a starting point only.
