The launch-roster rating
The rating most often cited for Curry is 88 overall. A complete NBA 2K14 ratings list published by NBA2K.ORG in 2013 places him at 88 as a point guard. A contemporary player-rating reveal from September 2013, also from NBA2K.ORG, lists “Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) – 88.” Two separate 2013 pieces agreeing on the same figure is the basis for this answer.

Two qualifications matter. First, NBA2K.ORG is a fan-run specialist site, not a 2K-hosted archive, so the figure is a published ratings record rather than a value read from the game’s own files. Second, the number describes the base roster, not every version of the game that players may encounter later.
How overall ratings are defined
The ratings list explains that a player’s overall rating combines his individual skills and attributes, with 99 as the maximum possible value. Curry’s 88 is therefore a summary score, not a single stat. It places him among the strongest point guards on the roster, but not at the top of the position.

Why the number can change
NBA 2K14 was designed to update player ratings during the season. The reveal said ratings would fluctuate through Dynamic Living Rosters based on real-life performance, with updates expected to take effect on the first day of the season. A January 3, 2014 roster-update report confirms that later dated updates existed. The sources available for this article do not name a later Curry rating, so no updated figure should be cited as established.
If you need the rating at a specific point in time, check the roster update date. Ratings from before a given update are not interchangeable with ratings after it.

Platforms
Take-Two’s launch announcement says NBA 2K14 was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC. The sources used here do not show that Curry’s rating differed between those platforms, so the 88 figure should be treated as the common launch-roster value rather than a platform-specific one.

The ESRB describes NBA 2K14 as “a basketball simulation game” in which players can select teams from real NBA rosters, customize players, compete in tournaments, and play regular seasons. That description is consistent with the roster-based ratings that make player values like Curry’s meaningful in the first place.
