For a Skyrim archer, the best amulet is one enchanted with Fortify Archery: it directly increases bow damage. If you are choosing among found items, aim for the highest-strength Fortify Archery necklace you find; the cited enchantment reference lists found tiers up to 40%. A crafted amulet’s strength depends on your character’s Enchanting setup.
Why Fortify Archery is the best choice
Fortify Archery is the direct fit for an archer because it increases bow damage. The enchantment reference describes its effect as making bows do 13% more damage and says the enchantment can be learned and applied at an Arcane Enchanter. That stated effect is a description of the enchantment, not a universal value for every found item or crafted amulet. Nukes & Dragons’ enchantment reference lists the effect and its item compatibility.
Found amulets: choose the strongest one available
The reference lists Fortify Archery found-item tiers of 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40%. The 40% tier is the highest listed there; it does not guarantee that a particular chest, merchant, or enemy will provide an amulet at that strength.
Compare the percentage on the item you actually find, rather than assuming every Fortify Archery necklace has the top value. These tier figures come from a secondary enchantment reference whose publication year is not stated, and may not apply unchanged to every edition, patch, or modded game.
#1 Best Overall
Crafting a custom Fortify Archery amulet
- Learn the enchantment: disenchant suitable Fortify Archery equipment to learn the effect. Disenchanting destroys the item.
- Use an Arcane Enchanter: select a necklace and apply Fortify Archery.
- Check the displayed result: the crafted strength depends on your Enchanting skill, perks, and other applicable bonuses. There is no single crafted maximum established here for every character or ruleset.
Should you use a different slot or a second enchantment?
Fortify Archery is also compatible with other apparel slots, including headgear, hand gear, and rings, according to the cited references. Consider the amulet alongside the gear you already wear: an amulet is the right choice when its effect improves your overall setup without displacing a more valuable effect in that slot.
A second enchantment is a build choice rather than a universally best pairing. A build guide gives an offensive amulet setup as an example, but that loadout does not establish a best combination for every archer. Choose a second effect for the needs of your character rather than treating a particular guide’s setup as a general rule.

Scope: standard Skyrim mechanics
This recommendation concerns the standard game mechanics described by the cited references. Mods, patches, platform-specific content, and character-specific crafting bonuses can change results. The fixed found-item tiers are reported by a secondary reference, so check the item and its displayed effect in your own game if precision matters.
