How to compare Deepwoken axes
Base damage is only one part of a weapon’s profile. Before choosing, compare the Heavy Weapons requirement and scaling with speed, range, weight, and any special mechanic. Which axe fits your build?
Choose Battleaxe if minimizing requirements matters
Battleaxe has 20 base damage and no Heavy Weapons requirement listed in the cited table. That makes it a plausible choice when you want to avoid committing points to meet a weapon requirement. It does not make Battleaxe the strongest axe: the table lists higher base damage for several other options, and the available evidence does not show how those differences translate into performance for your build.
Consider Canorian Axe or Adretian Axe at 35 Heavy Weapons
Both are listed with 24 base damage, a 35 Heavy Weapons requirement, and 7 Heavy Weapons scaling. The table figures are identical on those measures; use the remaining weapon characteristics and your own build goals to distinguish them rather than assuming one is stronger.

Consider Enforcer’s Axe if its requirement fits
Enforcer’s Axe has the highest listed base damage among these five examples: 26. Its 75 Heavy Weapons requirement is also the highest listed, so the damage figure does not make it an automatic best choice. Whether the requirement is worthwhile depends on the rest of your build and the weapon’s other combat characteristics.
Consider Evanspear Greataxe for its bleed mechanic
Evanspear Greataxe is listed at 25 base damage plus bleed, with a 70 Heavy Weapons requirement and 9.5 scaling. Its bleed gives it a different profile from a simple base-damage comparison. The available sources do not establish that bleed makes it the best choice for PvE or PvP in current play.

Does the best axe differ for PvE and PvP?
It may, because different builds and combat situations can make different weapon characteristics valuable.
