But the available evidence does not establish a single best current bot. A 2023 paper reports that Lucy-SKG outperformed Necto and Nexto in its experiments, which is not the same as proving it is the best practical 1v1 bot today. Keep bot use offline: Epic’s rules prohibit mods that provide an online competitive advantage, and its Terms prohibit bot software from automating use of its games.
Which Rocket League bot should you use for 1v1?
For an offline match against a named bot, Nexto is a sensible starting point. RLBot’s configuration documentation includes Necto as a bot tagged for traditional 1v1 soccar, and Nexto’s configuration describes it as version 2 of Necto with the same 1v1 tag. Those tags describe intended compatibility, not a verified rating or a guarantee about how challenging the bot will feel to you.
RLBot describes its framework as being for offline Rocket League bots. Its wiki also labels the v5 documentation pre-release, so check the current project documentation before setting up a bot; availability and setup details can change. RLBot configuration files
Does Lucy-SKG outperform Nexto?
A 2023 paper on Lucy-SKG reports that the agent outperformed Necto and Nexto in its evaluation. The paper’s experimental framing includes competitive team-based multiplayer conditions; it does not establish a current public 1v1 leaderboard, practical setup ease, or present-day availability. That result is relevant research, but it is not enough to crown Lucy-SKG the best bot for an ordinary player’s 1v1 practice. - With broad game support, the Logitech Gamepad F310 works with old standbys to today's biggest titles, so it's easy to set up and use with your favorite games.
- Profiler software allows the gamepad to be programmed to perform keyboard and mouse commands for games without gamepad support.* * Requires software installation.
- A familiar control layout that doesn't require a learning curve to be able to use, with all the same buttons as on an Xbox 360.
- The unique floating D-pad rests on four switches-instead of a single pivot point-making it responsive to quick changes in direction.
- The six-foot cord lets you lean back and play a comfortable distance from your PC monitor.
There is no apples-to-apples current 1v1 ranking in the cited sources. In particular, the available information does not compare these bots under the same 1v1 conditions or establish comparable scores. Treat “best” as dependent on what you need—an available offline opponent, a particular difficulty, or an agent for research—rather than as a settled ranking.
What the bot labels and projects tell you
- Necto: RLBot’s documentation provides a sample configuration tagged for 1v1 and teamplay. A tag indicates a declared mode, not independent proof of competitive strength.
- Nexto: Its configuration calls it version 2 of Necto, describes PPO training, and tags it for 1v1 and teamplay. This is project metadata, not a current benchmark. Nexto bot configuration
- Lucy-SKG: The 2023 paper reports an experimental performance comparison against Necto and Nexto, but does not verify an easy-to-install public 1v1 package.
- RLGym: This is a Python API for reinforcement-learning environments, with materials for training Rocket League bots and building custom environments. It is relevant if you want to develop or train an agent, not evidence that every research bot is ready for casual use. RLGym

No: do not use bot software to automate ranked, casual online, or other live-service play. It describes third-party mods in training, offline, and LAN matches with EAC off, subject to Epic’s Terms.
