Enter /gamemode creative in Minecraft’s chat to switch your player to Creative mode. The command works only when commands are enabled in a single-player world or you have sufficient permissions on a multiplayer server.
How to switch to Creative mode
- Open the in-game chat window.
- Type
/gamemode creative, including the initial forward slash. - Press Enter or the control your platform uses to submit chat. If the command is permitted, your game mode changes to Creative.
Minecraft’s command guide says commands entered in chat should begin with a forward slash. If you see an error, check the spelling and whether commands are allowed in your world or server.
What Creative mode changes
Creative mode gives players limitless resources, immunity to damage, and the ability to fly, according to Minecraft’s game overview.
Enable command access for your world
Bedrock single-player
Open the world settings, go to the Game tab, and enable Allow Cheats. Minecraft warns that enabling cheats permanently disables achievements in that world—even if you later turn cheats off. Consider that consequence before changing the setting.
