The command and what it does
The syntax is Game.lumps = <amount>. The number you type becomes your new sugar-lump total, so it sets the count rather than adding to it. A Cookie Clicker Wiki search result describing cheats lists this form for changing the sugar-lump amount, and a Steam Community guide lists the same assignment for the Steam console. The wiki page itself could not be opened in full for this article, so the wiki detail comes from its search-result summary, while the Steam guide’s syntax is the more complete reference.
Check your version before you type anything
Cookie Clicker is distributed in several forms, and the official site links to live, beta, classic, Android, and Steam versions. The sources reviewed do not establish that the command works the same way in each one, so identify which version you are playing first.

Using the command in the browser version
- Open Cookie Clicker in your browser and leave the game tab active.
- Open the developer console. In Chrome or Edge on Windows or Linux, press Ctrl+Shift+J; on a Mac, press Cmd+Option+J. In Firefox, press Ctrl+Shift+K or Cmd+Option+K. You can also press F12 on most browsers and select the Console tab.
- Click the input line at the bottom of the console.
- Type Game.lumps = 100, changing 100 to the total you want, then press Enter.
- Check the sugar-lump counter in the game. It should show the number you entered.
If you type game.lumps with a lowercase g, the command is not expected to work. A Steam guide comment makes this point with a similar function name, where lowercase form fails and the capitalized form is needed. Keep the capital G.

Using the command in the Steam version
The Steam Community guide titled “Enabling Dev Tools & Console,” by a contributor listed as expert plungophone player, describes enabling developer tools by editing the game’s local files. The guide is community-written rather than official Steam or developer support, and it was last updated May 9, 2025. Follow its procedure to enable the console, then enter Game.lumps = <AMT>, replacing <AMT> with your number, and keep the capitalization exactly as written.
Achievements and side effects
The Steam guide warns: “Notice This disables steam achievements until you disable developer mode.” Enabling developer mode on Steam therefore turns off achievement unlocks until you disable it again. The sources do not establish whether using the lump command in the browser version affects any achievement tracking, so do not assume it is safe for achievement hunting on any platform.
