Short answer: Deltarune does not use Undertale’s familiar full-game Pacifist-versus-Genocide route structure. Official materials say Deltarune has one ending, but choices still create meaningful variation within chapters. “Pacifist” describes handling enemies peacefully; what players often call Deltarune’s “genocide” path is more accurately the Chapter 2 Weird Route, also widely called the Snowgrave Route.
What do “Pacifist” and “Genocide” mean in Deltarune?
These terms describe different kinds of play, and they are not two matching routes through the whole game. A pacifist approach means avoiding violent defeats of Darkner enemies by using actions such as ACT, SPARE, or Pacify. In Chapter 2, peaceful handling can also allow enemies to be recruited.
“Genocide” is often used by players as shorthand for Deltarune’s darkest route, but that wording can suggest a direct equivalent to Undertale’s Genocide Route. The closer Deltarune term is the Weird Route: a specific Chapter 2 path built around directing Noelle to freeze enemies. “Snowgrave” is the widely used player-facing name associated with the route’s signature spell.

Is the Weird Route the same as Undertale’s Genocide Route?
No. Undertale’s Genocide Route is a useful comparison because both names point toward darker play, but the mechanics and scope differ. The documented Deltarune Weird Route is chapter-specific, depends on Noelle’s ice magic, and requires backtracking. It is not simply a full-game checklist for defeating every enemy.

Does Deltarune have multiple endings?
Official Deltarune materials state that the game has one ending; the Steam listing also frames the game as having “… only 1 ending…?” (official Steam listing; official FAQ). That does not mean every chapter plays out identically: route choices can change a chapter’s story and ending, as Chapter 2’s Weird Route demonstrates.
Deltarune’s story is still continuing. The official FAQ’s one-ending statement should not be taken as proof that all future consequences of current choices are known.

Which route should you choose?
Choose the pacifist approach if you want to spare enemies and, in Chapter 2, pursue recruitment. If you want to see the distinct Chapter 2 story variation, the Weird Route requires deliberately following its Noelle-focused sequence; simply fighting enemies in an ordinary playthrough does not automatically start it. These are different play styles within an unfinished game, not two established full-game endings to select between.
