Tridle is a browser word game where each five-letter guess is applied to three word puzzles at once. On the Engaging Data version, you have eight tries to solve all three. You can play it on Engaging Data’s Tridle page.
How Tridle works
Instead of finishing one word puzzle before starting the next, you make a single guess that is submitted to all three boards. Each board has its own hidden answer, so the same letters can receive different feedback across the boards.
On Engaging Data’s version, the feedback colors are:
- Green: the letter is in the correct position.
- Orange: the letter is in the answer, but in a different position.
- Black: the letter is not in that answer.
You get eight attempts to solve all three words. The challenge is to choose guesses that make useful progress across the boards, rather than treating them as three separate games.

How to play Tridle
- Open Engaging Data’s Tridle page.
- Enter a valid five-letter word. The game submits that guess to all three boards.
- Read the green, orange, and black feedback on each board separately; a letter’s result can differ from one answer to another.
- Use the feedback from all three boards to choose your next guess, continuing until you solve the words or use your eight attempts.
The creator says the game can be played repeatedly, so it is not limited to completing one round.
Where to play—and which Tridle a page means
Engaging Data’s page is the creator-identified destination for the game described here. Other websites also use the name Tridle, and their rules or modes may differ.
For example, Tridle.net advertises daily, unlimited, timed, theme, no-yellow, and custom modes, and describes a shared daily puzzle. Those are features of that separate site; they should not be assumed to be part of Engaging Data’s version.
An OmiGames listing attributes a Tridle entry to Engaging Data, gives a release date of March 7, 2022, and describes the game as not an official Wordle game. That last statement is the listing’s characterization, not a legal determination.
Why the game was made
The Tridle creator says: “Shortly after I started playing Wordle in early January, I wanted to play more games so I decided to make a Wordle game so I could play as often as I wanted.” The creator page reports “Over 9 Million games played! (January 2025).” This is a publisher-reported cumulative game count, not a verified count of unique players; the page does not specify an auditing method.
