Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For a YouTube fireplace stream, start with 1080p at 30 fps if your upload connection can reliably sustain the bitrate. YouTube recommends 14 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p30. If that is too demanding for your connection, use 720p30 at 8 Mbps instead. These are YouTube’s current input recommendations, not requirements specific to fireplace videos.
Choose resolution by balancing detail and reliability
A higher resolution can preserve more detail from your source, but only if your encoder and upload connection can deliver it consistently. YouTube transcodes a live input into multiple playback formats, so you do not need to send a separate stream for every resolution viewers might select. Its published recommendations below are for incoming video at 30 fps; they do not apply to 60 fps.
| Input format | H.264 recommended bitrate | AV1/H.265 recommended bitrate | When it may make sense |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p30 (1280×720) | 8 Mbps | 6 Mbps | Choose it when upload capacity or reliable uptime is the constraint. |
| 1080p30 (1920×1080) | 14 Mbps | 10 Mbps | A practical starting point when your connection is stable. |
| 1440p30 | 21 Mbps | 15 Mbps | Consider it only when the source has useful extra detail and your connection can sustain the higher bitrate. |
| 2160p30 (4K) | 42 Mbps | 30 Mbps | Usually unnecessary for a simple, locked-off fireplace scene unless 4K source detail is a goal and delivery capacity is ample. |
These are YouTube’s recommended live ingest bitrates for the named codecs and frame rate, from its encoder guidance accessed October 3, 2026. Match the recommendation to the codec you actually use; do not apply the AV1/H.265 figure to an H.264 encoder. YouTube’s current guidance is at Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Check upload capacity before you commit
- Measure upload speed. Download speed does not determine whether your outgoing stream can be delivered. YouTube says the total stream bitrate must fit within outbound capacity and recommends leaving 20% extra room. Include any backup stream and other devices or services using the same connection. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
- Choose a codec and target bitrate. For example, use the H.264 1080p30 recommendation of 14 Mbps if that is your encoder’s codec. The codec-specific recommendations differ, as shown above.
- Keep headroom and test under real conditions. A speed test is only a snapshot. Network congestion, interruptions, and competing traffic can reduce the capacity available to your stream. Test with audio and movement similar to the planned stream, then monitor YouTube’s stream health.
- Step down if delivery is unstable. If you cannot maintain 1080p30 with headroom, try 720p30 and its matching bitrate rather than insisting on a higher resolution that buffers or drops.
Use the source frame rate and sensible encoder settings
For a 30 fps fireplace recording or loop, 30 fps is generally the sensible match; selecting 60 fps adds no benefit just because the platform supports it. A real fire has motion, but the source frame rate and the quality of that motion matter more than choosing a higher number without a reason.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Rate control: YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: Set a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- Protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS for sending the stream.
- Testing: Check the stream with representative audio and movement, and watch stream health during operation.
For a 24/7 broadcast, test the full workflow—including how it behaves after interruptions—over a representative run before depending on it. That is a practical application of YouTube’s general test-and-monitor guidance, not a special resolution rule published for continuous streams.
Latency and viewer controls matter less for an ambient stream
A fireplace stream usually does not depend on immediate back-and-forth with viewers. YouTube notes that lower latency can increase playback buffering and is less important when the broadcaster is not interacting with the audience. Choose a latency setting for the viewing experience you want rather than lowering it automatically. If DVR is enabled, viewers can pause and rewind.

Do-it-yourself or cloud streaming
Run it yourself
If you are encoding from a computer, configure your encoder for the selected resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, CBR, two-second keyframes, and RTMPS. Connect it to the YouTube live event with the stream key, test stream health, and verify that your computer and network can remain available for the broadcast. The exact controls depend on your encoder; YouTube’s settings page provides the platform-side recommendations, not software-specific menus.
