A January 20, 2025 Daily Galaxy report described an unidentified gamer who reportedly spent about €8,000 on a PC gaming installation built around three 65-inch LG C2 OLED displays. The stated goal was to show PlayStation games at their best on PC. That setup demonstrates what enthusiast hardware and unusual displays can enable, but it does not prove that every PlayStation game is better on Steam—or that the gains justify the cost for ordinary players.
What is actually verified?
The story comes from a January 20, 2025 Daily Galaxy report: “A Gamer Spends 8,000 Euros on a PC for One Reason: To Prove That PS5 Exclusives Are Way Better on Steam”. It says the setup was shared on Reddit and names Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, The Last of Us Part I, and God of War Ragnarök.
The report does not identify the gamer, location, Reddit username, original post, receipts, photographs with verifiable metadata, or an independent witness. It does not itemize the €8,000, so that figure should be treated as reported rather than audited.
- Reported: three 65-inch LG C2 OLED screens.
- Reported estimate: approximately €2,000 per screen, or roughly €6,000 for the displays.
- Not established: the PC tower’s price, components, software, peripherals, mounts, cabling, audio, taxes, shipping, or games.
- Not established: whether all three displays were active during gameplay or whether the games rendered across them without modifications.
The LG C2 was a 2022-era OLED television, not a current 2026 default recommendation for a desktop gaming monitor. Its presence is relevant to the reported project, but it should not be mistaken for proof that three large televisions are the best way to play PC games.

What hardware was in the PC?
No CPU, graphics card, memory, motherboard, storage, power supply, cooling system, case, operating-system version, or connection method is given. Without those details, nobody can calculate the machine’s expected frame rate, power draw, noise, or ability to drive the combined resolution of three screens.
That missing information matters. Three 65-inch panels can represent a much larger pixel workload than one 4K display. A surround arrangement may also require a compatible graphics driver, custom aspect-ratio handling, bezel correction, and game-specific fixes. The report supplies no benchmark, frame-time capture, resolution measurement, or comparison against a named PS5 graphics mode.
Are PlayStation games really “exclusives” on Steam?
“PlayStation exclusive” is often used loosely for a PlayStation Studios game or a title that first appeared on PlayStation. Once Sony releases a PC version, that product is no longer exclusive to PlayStation hardware. Availability still depends on the title, release date, storefront, and region.
Sony’s official PC catalogue lists games sold through Steam and Epic Games, including God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, The Last of Us Part I, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Until Dawn, and others. It is a finite catalogue, not a promise that every PlayStation release will come to PC.

Sony also treats the PC and console editions as separate products. Buying one does not automatically grant the other, and save transfers are generally unavailable. Some games require a PlayStation account for particular features or modes, so the store page for each title should be checked before purchase.
Where a PC version can be better
Image quality
With sufficient hardware, a PC version can offer a higher render resolution and adjustable settings for shadows, reflections, textures, foliage, filtering, anti-aliasing, and field of view. Upscaling technologies may provide additional performance-quality choices. These are possibilities, not universal guarantees; each port exposes a different set of options.
Frame rate and latency
A PC is not locked to a single console performance target. Depending on the game, processor, graphics card, and display, it can provide higher frame rates, custom caps, high-refresh output, and potentially lower input latency. Poor settings, shader compilation, CPU limits, or insufficient graphics memory can instead produce stutter or inconsistent frame times.
Display flexibility
PC supports ultrawide monitors, unusual aspect ratios, variable refresh rate, and multi-monitor layouts. HDR quality depends on the display, operating system, calibration, and game implementation. Three televisions are not automatically equivalent to one ultrawide monitor: they introduce bezels, alignment work, scaling questions, and compatibility problems.

Mods and controls
Mods, ReShade-style tools, community fixes, configuration files, mouse-and-keyboard controls, and custom key bindings can extend a game beyond its console edition. Sony says PlayStation PC games support mouse and keyboard, DualShock 4, DualSense, and other controllers, but features vary by title. Wired DualSense support is available; wireless operation, adaptive triggers, and advanced haptics are title-dependent.
Why the PS5 can still be the better choice
A PS5 costs far less than the reported installation and removes most component-selection and troubleshooting decisions. Fixed hardware gives developers a known target, while players get a predictable console interface, standardized controller support, and straightforward living-room use.
- Lower upfront cost and fewer accessories to buy.
- No driver, launcher, shader-compilation, or graphics-setting maintenance for normal play.
- Consistent performance modes within each console release.
- Access to games that have not received PC versions.
- Potentially earlier access to Sony first-party releases, depending on the title.
- Simple television hookup and controller pairing.

How individual ports should be judged
There is no single “PlayStation PC experience.” For each game, compare the PS5 performance modes with the PC requirements and options, then check:

- Resolution and frame-rate behavior at the settings you would actually use.
- Ultrawide or multi-monitor support, rather than assuming a panoramic setup will work.
- HDR implementation and calibration requirements.
- Mouse-and-keyboard support and the exact DualSense features available.
- PlayStation-account requirements and online limitations.
- Launch condition, patches, shader stutter, and later fixes.
- Whether the PC release is a technical upgrade, a convenience option, or both.
God of War Ragnarök, Spider-Man, Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, The Last of Us Part I, Uncharted, and Ghost of Tsushima are useful examples because their PC features and performance histories differ. A well-optimized port cannot establish a rule for the entire catalogue.

If the report’s approximately €2,000-per-screen estimate is accurate, the three displays account for roughly €6,000 before the computer and accessories. The headline therefore describes a luxury visual installation as much as it describes a gaming PC.
Three 65-inch OLED televisions also require substantial room, mounting hardware, cabling, calibration, and a graphics card capable of driving the combined pixel count. OLED televisions bring desktop-specific concerns such as static-image burn-in risk, HDMI bandwidth, chroma subsampling, automatic brightness limiting, HDR calibration, and text clarity at close viewing distances. A single 4K OLED television, 34-inch ultrawide OLED, or 32-inch 4K OLED monitor is usually easier to configure and more practical.
“Maximum” settings are not automatically ideal. Ultra presets can deliver diminishing visual returns while increasing power use, heat, fan noise, VRAM pressure, and stutter. The report provides no evidence that the named games ran at maximum settings across all three panels.

What should a buyer do?
Choose a PS5 for value and simplicity
Buy a PS5 if you want predictable performance, a living-room system, console-first access, physical-game support where available, and minimal troubleshooting.
Choose a PC for flexibility
Choose a gaming PC if you value adjustable graphics, high frame rates, mods, mouse-and-keyboard play, ultrawide displays, a broader PC library, upgradeability, or one machine for gaming and other demanding work.
Choose both for a hybrid library
A hybrid setup makes sense for players who want PlayStation releases at launch or on console, then may buy selected PC versions for higher settings, mods, or display flexibility. It avoids paying for an extreme multi-screen installation before knowing which games genuinely benefit.
Verdict
The reported setup is a striking demonstration of enthusiast PC possibilities, not a controlled PS5-versus-PC test. Its unidentified hardware, unverified budget, absent benchmarks, and unclear three-screen configuration leave the central claim unproven. PC versions can be technically superior in resolution, frame rate, customization, and display support; PS5 remains superior in cost, consistency, and simplicity. The sensible conclusion is not that every PlayStation game is “way better on Steam,” but that PC gives players more ways to pursue a better experience—at a price they must decide is worthwhile.
