Before installing a fan-made Batman: Arkham Knight mod, verify that it is meant for your game version and platform, read the author’s exact installation steps, and make a backup of anything the mod will replace. A mod page or manager can help explain how a file is installed, but neither guarantees that a particular download is safe or compatible.
Check the mod page before downloading
- Confirm the target. Make sure the description names Batman: Arkham Knight and matches your platform. Do not assume a PC mod applies to a console version.
- Read the full instructions. Check requirements, pinned notes, permissions, posts and bug reports. Look for compatibility warnings and any specific tools or files the author requires.
- Check update details. Note when the file was last updated and whether the author explains which game version or installation layout it supports.
- Use the stated source. Prefer the mod’s own hosting page over repackaged copies, and be cautious of downloads that add unrelated executables. A hosting service cannot, by itself, establish that an individual file is safe.
Inspect the archive and installation route
Before copying or deploying anything, compare the archive’s contents with the author’s directions. A folder name or file path that looks plausible is not proof that it belongs in the game directory. Do not treat one mod’s instructions as a template for another.
Manual installation
Follow the mod author’s exact destination and overwrite instructions. For example, the instructions for Psybertr0n’s Definitive Console Command Mod (version 2.0, updated April 12, 2020) say to extract the ZIP and copy its Binaries and BmGame folders to the game root. The author notes that this can overwrite BmInput.ini and recommends copying the existing file elsewhere first. Those paths and steps apply to that mod, not to Arkham Knight mods generally.
Using a mod manager
Check that the specific mod supports the manager and that the manager’s game integration handles the archive’s structure. Nexus Mods describes its app as a mod manager, not a mod loader or framework; its game-specific integrations extract and place files. That does not establish that a particular Arkham Knight mod works with the app. See the Nexus Mods App installation guidance.

Back up files and saves where appropriate
- Copy files before an overwrite. Keep an untouched copy of any configuration file the instructions say will be replaced. The example above specifically flags
BmInput.ini. - Back up saves if the mod author recommends it. The console-command mod author advises backing up save files before mesh-swap commands, warning that misuse has a small chance of corrupting saves. This is a caution for that mod’s commands, not an established risk for every mod.
- Keep the original archive and note what changed. This gives you a reference if you need to restore files. No universal Arkham Knight mod removal procedure is established; use the particular author’s removal directions where available.
Understand the limits of platform rules and safety claims
WB Games’ EULA says it does not examine or evaluate third-party mods and that users use them at their own risk. Its Mods section states: “You agree to use Mods at your own risk and acknowledge and agree that WB Games is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content, accuracy, completeness, availability, timeliness, validity, copyright, compliance, legality, decency, quality or any other aspect of any Mods or Third-Party Services.” Read the WB Games EULA applicable to your game and jurisdiction; it also restricts modifying the game client except for authorized mods.
Nexus Mods’ File Submission Guidelines, last updated September 29, 2026, set rules for submissions and describe possible moderation. These rules and moderation do not certify an individual file as malware-free, compatible, or endorsed by WB Games.
