Start with the exact message on screen, then follow the matching guidance from Embark. The fact that a problem started after an update does not, by itself, prove the update caused it.
First, identify what happened

Do not assume an integrity warning proves a false positive, either. Embark says antivirus software can mistakenly flag game files, but that possibility does not establish what happened on a particular PC.
If ARC Raiders crashes or will not launch
Embark’s “Troubleshooting Game Crash & Launch Issues – PC” page was last updated September 30, 2026. For crashes in the main menu or during loading, it recommends checking minimum PC requirements and, if enabled, turning off Raider Voice (Beta), which Embark says may cause crashes for some players.
Work through the general checks
- Check for updated graphics, CPU, motherboard/BIOS, monitor, network, and peripheral drivers.
- Update DirectX and Windows; restart the PC after installing Windows updates.
- If you play through Steam, open Library → ARC Raiders → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- If crashes continue, try disabling overlays or third-party software, changing one thing at a time so you can identify whether it makes a difference.
Match fixes to the displayed error code
Only use a code-specific step when the code matches. Some fixes change settings or remove files, so follow the current Embark page carefully rather than applying several unrelated changes at once.

An older loading-issues guide, last updated February 27, 2026, also suggests restarting, updating the operating system, temporarily reducing background processes, and checking that antivirus or firewall rules are not blocking the game or EAC. It describes clean-boot and clean-reinstall options, which are later-stage steps if the newer crash guide does not resolve the problem. Its reinstall directions warn not to delete the entire Embark Studios data folder if another Embark game is installed.
If you receive a System Integrity Violation
Embark’s “System Integrity Violation and Error Codes” guide, last updated October 29, 2025, says these errors mean the system is not meeting one or more security requirements or that a disallowed process has been detected.
Check the code and the named cause
Embark associates certain code families with particular conditions: ARAV…14 with launching through a virtual machine; ARAV…18 with NVIDIA Profile Inspector; ARAV…21 with an active auto-clicker; ARAV…26 with scripting; and ARAV…24/27 with required security settings being disabled. These are code-family associations, not a diagnosis of an individual PC. Embark says it cannot provide individual detail about the cause on a specific account for security reasons.

Review security settings and background programs
The guide’s first checks are Windows Security → Device Security, Core Isolation, Memory Integrity, Secure Boot if available, and Windows updates. It also recommends closing tools that modify gameplay or hardware, disabling nonessential startup items, or using a clean boot to identify interference.

Use the antivirus vendor’s controls and limit any exception to the game components named in Embark’s directions; do not turn off all security software on the assumption that the warning is a false positive. Contact Embark Support if the listed steps do not resolve the issue.
If the warning says “Fatal Error: Cheat Software Detected”
In its fatal-error guidance, Embark says this message means a program or process on its disallowed list is active. It is often, but not exclusively, an AutoHotkey script or similar tool. Embark says the program is flagged while active, not simply because it is installed.

- Read the warning and note the file path it identifies.
- Stop the flagged process in Task Manager.
- Try launching again only after the process is no longer active.
Embark explicitly says this warning is not itself an account ban. It also warns that repeated launch attempts while the flagged process is still active may lead to disciplinary action. Do not assume that every accessibility device or background utility is prohibited; identify the exact message and follow Embark’s current guidance.
If you received an account-ban notice
Embark’s Ban and Enforcement Policy, last updated February 26, 2026, says enforcement may follow cheating, attempts to bypass anti-cheat, exploiting, abusive behavior, boosting or farming, account sharing or selling, or trading items for value. It also warns that external software can trigger anti-cheat violations unintentionally if it interacts with the game. Bans may be temporary or permanent, and some serious violations may extend across Embark titles.

- Open ARC Raiders Support and log in with your Embark ID.
- Click the chat bubble.
- Choose Ban Appeals > In-Game Ban.
- Include the enforcement message and relevant context. Keep the account owner in control of the request.
In its May 7, 2026 “Ensuring Fair Play” statement and its September 30, 2026 anti-cheat update, Embark says a person is involved in the appeals process. The studio acknowledges that replies may use pre-written responses; this is Embark’s stated process, not a guarantee about the outcome of an individual appeal.

Hardware bans are a separate enforcement type under Embark’s policy, which says hardware-ban appeals are not available. Do not try to evade a restriction by changing identifiers or using another machine.

Embark’s September 30, 2026 “An Update on Anti-Cheat” describes kernel-level protection from Denuvo, detections from Anybrain, and in-house machine-learning models and data. The studio says its systems build confidence before taking action and that a human is involved in appeals. It describes considering behavior over multiple instances before issuing a permanent ban once its confidence threshold is met.

This is Embark’s description of its approach, not evidence that a specific alert is correct or incorrect. The published guidance does not establish that an unspecified anti-cheat update caused an individual player’s crash or warning, and it does not provide a crash frequency or false-positive rate for that player’s case. Treat the timing as a clue, not proof of cause.
What to include when you contact support
For a crash, integrity warning, or other unresolved issue, gather the details that distinguish one case from another:
- The exact error text or code, copied or photographed if possible.
- Whether the game crashes, freezes, fails at launch, or stays open with a warning.
- When the issue began and whether it happens at launch, in the menu, or during a session.
- Your platform, plus recent Windows, driver, and game updates.
- The official troubleshooting steps you have already tried and what happened afterward.
For a ban appeal, include the enforcement message and relevant context through Embark’s appeal route rather than filing the issue as a crash.
