Before changing account settings or buying a code, check the official store, your account country, and the region rules for your console.
Why a game may not appear in your console store
Digital storefront catalogues and services can differ by country. A game may be unreleased locally or unavailable for purchase in your region; its absence alone does not establish that it was censored, delisted, or legally restricted. Nintendo Support specifically identifies those first two possibilities for a game missing from eShop: the game may not yet be released or may not be available for purchase in your region.

Other common things to check are whether you selected the right console edition and whether the store is showing the country attached to your account. The exact answer depends on the game, platform, and country, so verify the listing in the official storefront for your account’s region rather than relying on a search result or a listing for another market.
Check the listing, edition, account country, and payment region
- Search the official store for your account’s country. Check the precise title and platform edition. If it is missing, consult the publisher’s or platform’s official product information for local release status.
- Confirm the edition and account country. A listing for another console or edition may not apply. On PlayStation, you can check the account country in Account Management under residential address; the account country cannot be changed after creation, according to PlayStation Support.
- Check payment and voucher compatibility before buying. PlayStation voucher codes must match the account’s country or region. Nintendo warns that region-issued cards may not work in another region’s eShop. Do not assume that a foreign-region code will unlock a missing game.
- If you have moved long-term, read the platform’s current region-change guidance first. Rules and consequences differ by platform, as outlined below.
- Consider a physical edition only if your console supports game media. Confirm the exact platform and edition with a reputable retailer. On PlayStation, the licensed region of a disc game matters for add-ons: an add-on and disc with mismatched licensed regions are incompatible. Check the small print on the game box or ask the retailer about the disc’s licensed region.
- Contact official support if the cause remains unclear. Provide the game title, account region, console model, and exact error text.

Should you change your account or console region?
Do not change a region just to try to make one missing game appear. Region changes can affect account funds, billing, services, and what you can buy; they are not a universal fix for regional availability.

PlayStation
PlayStation states: “Once created, your country/region can’t be changed.” Check the account country and billing details, but do not expect to switch an existing account to another store region. Xbox and Microsoft Store
Microsoft says, “We recommend you change your region only if you’re moving to a new country or region for a long time.” Account funds do not transfer between regions, and some services or items may not work in a different region. Changing the console location is a separate setting from changing your Microsoft account’s region; follow Microsoft’s current country-or-region instructions for your situation.

Nintendo eShop
Changing the country on your Nintendo Account affects the eShop region. Spend any remaining balance first because it does not carry over. Nintendo also warns that cards issued for one region may not work in another region’s eShop. Read Nintendo’s account-country instructions before making a change.
Nintendo’s regional availability information can be country-specific and may change. For example, the Nintendo of America support page consulted lists full eShop functionality for the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, and says eShop is not currently available in other Latin American and Caribbean countries. Check Nintendo’s current eShop availability guidance and your country’s official distributor for the latest applicable details.

When a physical copy may help
If your console accepts game media and the exact title has a compatible physical edition, a disc or cartridge can be an alternative to a missing digital listing. Confirm that the copy is for your console and that the seller identifies its edition and licensed region. Before purchasing downloadable content, check whether it is compatible with that physical copy; on PlayStation, the game disc and add-on must have matching licensed regions.

If the official store, account region, release information, and platform-specific rules do not explain the problem, contact the platform’s official support. Include the title, account country or region, console model, and exact error message so support can distinguish a catalogue issue from a purchase or account problem. Avoid fabricated billing details or unverified region codes: neither is established as a reliable way to access a game, and mismatched vouchers or payment methods may fail.
