If a sportsbook bonus is missing or won’t apply, check the exact offer terms first: confirm you opted in or entered the required code, met its eligibility and deposit rules, and placed a qualifying wager during the promotion. Then check the offer’s stated crediting window. If the reward is still missing, save records and ask the sportsbook which requirement it believes you did not meet.
Check the offer’s requirements in order
Promotions are not interchangeable: one offer’s rules or processing time do not establish what another sportsbook owes. Open the terms for the specific promotion you enrolled in, and verify each requirement against your account and wager history. Operator help pages identify activation, promo codes, deposits, qualifying wagers, and eligible games as common checks (betPARX New Jersey Help Center; Gun Lake Casino Help Center).
- Activation: Did you have to opt in, select the offer, or enter a code? Check for a confirmation and whether the code had to be used at a particular point, such as registration.
- Eligibility: Was the promotion for new customers, existing customers, or a particular account type? Check any age, account, or location conditions.
- Deposit: Did the offer require a minimum deposit, a particular funding method, or a deposit made within a specified period?
- Qualifying wager: Confirm the stake came from eligible cash funds if required, met the minimum amount and odds, and used an allowed bet type.
- Event and market: Check that the wager was on an eligible sport, event, or market. Some offers exclude particular wagers or games.
- Timing and settlement: Make sure you enrolled, deposited, and placed the wager within the active period. Check whether the wager must settle before it qualifies, and whether the terms exclude a voided or cashed-out bet.
Use the offer terms that applied when you enrolled, not a current version if the promotion has since changed. Save a copy or screenshot showing the offer name and conditions.
Confirm your account and location qualify
Sportsbook eligibility can depend on where you are physically located when participating, your age, account status, and the specific offer. For example, FanDuel’s New Jersey terms dated March 2, 2026 describe eligibility conditions involving an account, physical presence in New Jersey, age 21 or older, and additional offer-specific requirements (FanDuel New Jersey terms). That example is not a nationwide rule. Check the state-specific terms and the conditions attached to your own promotion.

Check when the reward is due—and when it expires
Look for a stated posting window before treating the reward as overdue. The window and any expiry period are set by the individual promotion. For example, ESPN BET’s “Make Any Sportsbook Bet, Get $225” offer says qualifying bonus bets are applied within 72 hours and must be used within seven days of receipt. Its terms also require the offer code during registration and a qualifying cash wager; these timings and conditions apply to that offer, not to sportsbooks generally (ESPN BET offer terms).
Check the account’s bonus or promotions area as well as the cash balance: a reward may appear as a separate bonus bet rather than withdrawable funds. Read the offer’s restrictions on how it can be used.

Ask support to identify the specific issue
If the stated crediting window has passed, contact the operator through its official support channel. Include the promotion name and a short timeline, and ask which specific eligibility or wager requirement the system found unmet and what crediting window applies. betPARX’s New Jersey help guidance similarly recommends checking the offer criteria and contacting support with the promotion name and details if the bonus is still missing (betPARX Help Center).
Keep copies of:
- The offer and its terms, including any state-specific version.
- Opt-in, code-entry, or registration confirmation.
- Deposit records and wager details, including stake, odds, event, market, and settlement status.
- Relevant account screens, messages, and support replies.
Do not deposit or place extra bets just to try to trigger a disputed promotion. Ask support what effect another transaction could have before changing your account or promotion status.

If support does not resolve the dispute
Identify the regulator responsible for sports wagering where you placed the bet and follow that regulator’s official complaint process. Complaint procedures, deadlines, and remedies vary; there is no single U.S.-wide process established by the sources cited here.
State rules can set requirements for promotion terms, but they do not automatically decide whether a particular account qualified. Ohio’s Rule 3775-16-09, effective October 26, 2024, requires clear and unambiguous promotion rules that address matters including active and expiration times, eligibility, wagering and redemption requirements, eligible wagers, and cancellation terms (Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3775-16-09). Kentucky’s 809 KAR 10:002, effective July 1, 2024, requires specified promotion disclosures and cancellation information for promotions involving restricted wagering credits, including how unrestricted funds are returned and restricted credits removed (Kentucky 809 KAR 10:002). These are jurisdiction-specific examples, not rules that apply identically across the country.

Before cancelling or taking another action involving restricted credits, ask support what will happen to the funds and promotion. The effect depends on the offer terms and the rules where you placed the wager.
