Loot Keys in Liberty Falls open the security deposit boxes inside the Savings and Loans bank vault. They do not open the vault door. The vault itself needs a six-digit combination, assembled from three two-digit notes hidden around the map, and that combination changes every match. Once you are inside, each Loot Key opens one deposit box, and the box contents are randomized.
Where Loot Keys come from
Loot Keys appear as ground items during a round. Call of Duty’s official Liberty Falls map guide, written by Dan Herrera and published in 2024, tells players to watch for them directly:
“Keep your head on a swivel and watch out for special items on the ground, including Loot Keys.”
Zombies can also drop them. Manglers and Abominations are named as enemies that can drop Loot Keys, so keep an eye on those encounters as well as on floor pickups. Save your keys for the bank vault boxes; they have no use elsewhere on the map as far as the guides document.

Finding the vault combination
The vault code is not printed anywhere on the map. It is split across three notes, each showing two digits. The notes are placed in fixed locations, but the digits differ from match to match, so the notes you find in one game are useless in the next. Collect all three in the current match before heading to the vault.
Savings and Loans note
The first note sits on the counter just outside the vault room, inside the Savings and Loans building. GameSpot’s October 24, 2024 guide describes its position this way.

Olly’s Comics note
The second note is in Olly’s Comics. Shacknews, in its October 27, 2024 guide, places it under the main counter desk. GameSpot describes it differently: a note inside a shelf behind the counter, near a superhero statue. The two descriptions do not match exactly, so start your search at the counter and check the desk area first, then the shelf and statue area behind the counter.
Fuller’s Liberty Lanes note
The third note is at the bowling alley. It sits under a bucket on the concession counter. Shoot or melee the bucket to remove it and reveal the note.

Opening the vault and using your keys
- Collect all three notes in the current match and read down their two-digit values.
- Walk to the bank vault and enter the six digits in this order: the Savings and Loans note first, then the Olly’s Comics note, then the Fuller’s Liberty Lanes note.
- Once the vault is open, interact with a security deposit box inside.
- Use one Loot Key on that box. Repeat for each box you want to open with a key you hold.
What the deposit boxes reward
Box rewards scale with the key’s rarity, but the outcome of each box is randomized. The sources do not publish a full reward table, so treat the examples below as individual results players reported, not guaranteed drops.
| Loot Key color (rarity) | Reported reward | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Green (common) | Killstreak | Reported in GameSpot’s October 24, 2024 guide; one player-observed result |
| Blue (rare) | Weapon of the same rarity | Reported in GameSpot’s October 24, 2024 guide; one player-observed result |
| Purple (epic) | Ray Gun | Reported in GameSpot’s October 24, 2024 guide; one player-observed result |
Time inside the vault
GameSpot’s October 2024 guide states that a visit to the vault gives a 40-second safe window before the player is ejected. That figure has not been checked against a current official Call of Duty source, so plan a quick visit rather than assuming the timer is fixed. Use the time to open boxes with the keys you already hold.

How current this guidance is
Most of the vault-specific instructions come from two 2024 guides, GameSpot’s and Shacknews’, plus an independent fan guide that was updated July 7, 2026. The official Liberty Falls map guide confirms the Loot Key ground drops but does not describe the vault, the notes, or the boxes. The guides also do not separate platform-specific behavior, so the steps above are written for the Liberty Falls map as described in these sources. If a game update changes Zombies mechanics, recheck the vault code location, the note positions, and the box rewards before relying on them.
