The seventh Epic Games Store holiday mystery game in 2024 was DREDGE. The offer was reported on December 24 and was available to claim for 24 hours; it has since expired. The available sources do not verify the title’s “award-winner” label, so no award should be attributed to it here.
What was Epic’s seventh free mystery game?
It was DREDGE, the single-player fishing adventure from developer Black Salt Games and publisher Team17 Digital. Beebom identified it as the seventh mystery game in its December 24, 2024 report and said the free claim window lasted 24 hours. Beebom’s December 24, 2024 report

A later holiday-game schedule placed DREDGE on December 24–25 at 8:00 AM PT, but that schedule was based on leaked data. It is secondary corroboration; the contemporaneous report is the source for the game’s identity and reported claim window. Beebom’s holiday schedule
Why the “award-winner” label needs qualification
The sources available for this giveaway do not establish which award DREDGE won, or verify an award-body record. It would therefore be inaccurate to name it an award-winning game on this evidence. Beebom described it as a “10-rated Steam game,” but that time-sensitive phrase does not specify a scale or dated source and is not a reliable award or rating statistic. Beebom’s report

What kind of game is DREDGE?
Epic describes DREDGE as a single-player fishing adventure with a sinister undercurrent. You pilot a trawler around remote islands, catch and sell fish, take on quests, and upgrade your boat and equipment. Exploring farther takes you into deeper waters, where nighttime fog brings hazards and threats. Epic lists Windows and Mac OS as supported platforms. Epic Games Store: DREDGE
Can you still claim DREDGE for free?
No. The reported 24-hour mystery-game offer was a historical promotion, not a current free claim. Epic’s live DREDGE listing shows digital editions and add-ons; edition availability and prices can change, so consult the store page for current details. Epic Games Store: DREDGE

Epic’s general support guidance says its routine weekly free game changes on Thursdays at 8:00 AM PT and remains available for seven days. Once a game is claimed, it stays in the player’s library. The guidance also says claiming requires an Epic Games account with two-factor authentication enabled. Those are general current mechanics, not the terms of the older DREDGE mystery promotion.
