At FIFA 23’s launch, EA Play Pro members on PC could start playing the full EA Play Pro Edition on September 27, 2022—three days before the Standard Edition launched worldwide. Regular EA Play members received only a 10-hour early-access trial.
That is now a historical date. EA removed FIFA 23 from the EA Play Play List on September 16, 2024, so a new EA Play Pro subscription in 2026 does not unlock FIFA 23.
What was the EA Play Pro PC date for FIFA 23?
EA Play Pro PC access began on September 27, 2022. Members received the full EA Play Pro Edition during the early-access period, rather than a timed demo. The worldwide Standard Edition launch followed on September 30, 2022. EA’s release schedule lists both the EA Play early-access trial and EA Play Pro access on September 27: EA’s FIFA 23 release dates.
The Pro entitlement was subscription-based. It remained available while the membership was active and FIFA 23 remained in the service catalog; it was not permanent ownership of the game.

EA Play and EA Play Pro were different offers
“EA Play” and “EA Play Pro” were not interchangeable at launch. The standard tier was a way to try FIFA 23 for a limited time, while Pro supplied the premium edition without a playtime cap.

EA described the standard trial as 10 full hours in its launch announcement: EA Play early access and trial details. Its FIFA Ultimate Team launch notes separately stated that EA Play Pro PC members received unlimited access during early access: FIFA 23 FUT launch update.

Can EA Play Pro still unlock FIFA 23?
No—not for a new subscription. EA’s Play List service update records FIFA 23’s removal on September 16, 2024. The notice covers the listed Xbox, PlayStation, Steam and EA App versions: EA Play service games and updates. EA’s service-update archive also records the removal: EA service-update archive.

Where EA Play Pro worked on PC
EA Play Pro was a PC membership delivered through the EA app. EA’s support guidance says Pro was not offered through Steam or the Epic Games Store: EA Help: upgrade to EA Play Pro on PC.
FIFA 23 itself was sold or launched on PC through the Origin/EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store, and it had EA Play trial access. That storefront list describes FIFA 23’s launch distribution; it does not make an EA Play Pro subscription transferable to Steam or Epic. A Steam or Epic purchase is a separate storefront entitlement that still links to an EA account when the game runs.

What to do if FIFA 23 is missing from your EA app
- Sign in to the EA account you used originally. An account mismatch can make a purchased game or linked entitlement appear to be missing.
- Check your purchase history and linked libraries. Look in the original EA app, Steam or Epic account rather than relying on the current EA Play catalog.
- Separate subscription access from ownership. If you only played through EA Play or EA Play Pro and never bought FIFA 23, removal from the Play List may explain why it is no longer available.
- Contact EA Help for a purchased copy that is absent. Keep the order number, platform and account email available so support can check the entitlement.
Do not treat an old article that says “FIFA 23 is on EA Play Pro” as proof of current availability. It may be accurately describing the September 27, 2022 launch window while omitting the 2024 catalog removal.

FIFA 23 PC requirements (launch-era specifications)
These are the requirements EA published for the 2022 PC release, not a new 2026 compatibility test. EA stated that the PC version used DirectX 12 exclusively and did not support DirectX 11. The original PC FAQ is available at EA’s FIFA 23 PC FAQ.

Which route made sense for different players?
- Checking the original launch date: September 27, 2022 was the EA Play Pro PC start date.
- Trying FIFA 23 through a launch subscription: Standard EA Play offered up to 10 hours; Pro offered the full edition while the catalog entitlement lasted.
- Trying to start through EA Play Pro today: This is not a reliable route because FIFA 23 left the Play List on September 16, 2024.
- Already bought FIFA 23: Use the purchasing EA, Steam or Epic account and its library; ownership is distinct from an EA Play subscription.
- Looking for a current EA football game: Check the current EA SPORTS FC catalog separately. FIFA 23’s former inclusion does not establish that a newer football title or a particular edition is included.
EA Play Pro pricing and availability vary by country and can change. EA’s support page also notes that Pro is not available in Brazil, so regional eligibility should be checked before subscribing.
Bottom line
If you mean FIFA 23’s original release, EA Play Pro PC access started on September 27, 2022, with unlimited access to the EA Play Pro Edition. Regular EA Play was limited to a 10-hour trial. If you mean today, FIFA 23 was removed from EA Play on September 16, 2024, so EA Play Pro no longer grants new access to it.
