2K’s current Borderlands 4 game page lists the game as available, and 2K’s September 12, 2025 launch announcement confirms that date as the actual release.

Why some sources say September 23
2K first announced a September 23, 2025 release date on February 12, 2025. Its later updates on April 30 and June 16 gave September 12 instead, and the game launched on that revised date. September 23 was the original announcement, not a separate release or a conflicting launch.
2K did not give a reason for changing the date in the cited announcements, so there is no confirmed explanation to add.

In an August 29, 2025 roadmap article, 2K announced October 3, 2025 as the planned date for a Nintendo Switch 2 version.
