Sniper Elite: Resistance arrived on Xbox Game Pass on January 30, 2025, the same day it launched. Official Xbox material confirms the date but does not give an exact unlock hour or time zone, so no specific clock time can be stated with confidence.
The launch date and subscription terms
Xbox Wire’s Game Pass announcement, published January 21, 2025 by Megan Spurr, Senior Community Lead, Xbox Game Pass, listed the title in that month’s wave as “Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 30”. The post marked the game as available on day one for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
A launch-day Xbox Wire article followed on January 30, 2025. Written by Beck Shaw, Lead Level Designer at Rebellion, it opened: “With Sniper Elite: Resistance available from today on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox and Windows PC, we thought it would be a great time to give you some hints and tips for when you join the Resistance.” Rebellion’s own support pages also confirm the game is on Game Pass.
What time it unlocked
None of the official pages checked names an hour or a time zone for the Game Pass release. Xbox’s announcement and launch article refer to the date and to “today,” but they do not say when the game went live in any region. It would be inaccurate to assume a local midnight unlock, or a single worldwide moment of availability. If you need the exact time you first saw the game in your library, your own Xbox console or PC activity history is the only place that would show it.

What the Game Pass terms look like now
The launch terms and the current Xbox store listing describe different things, and they should not be merged. The table below separates them.
| Item | January 2025 launch announcement | Xbox store listing (checked October 8, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Release date | January 30, 2025 | January 30, 2025 |
| Platforms named | Cloud, Console, and PC | Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming |
| Game Pass tiers named | Day one for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass | Cloud play listed as available with Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate |
| Clock time | Not stated | Not stated |
The launch tiers describe how the game was offered in early 2025. Tier eligibility can change, so the store listing is the more current guide, though it is a snapshot that may differ by region and by the date you view it.

- Co-designed by award-winning designer David Thompson, designer of acclaimed war-themed titles like War Chest and the Undaunted series.

Buying the game instead of subscribing
The Xbox store also carries a direct purchase listing for Sniper Elite: Resistance, so the game can be bought outright if you do not subscribe to Game Pass. Check the listing in your own region for the current price and edition details before buying.
