Battlestate Games announced that maintenance for Escape from Tarkov patch 0.16.8.0 would begin July 9 at 8:00 AM BST / 3:00 AM EDT, with installation expected to take about six hours. The studio later said the work had been extended, then posted that it was complete and directed players to download the update through the launcher. Those posts document a past maintenance period; they do not confirm whether Tarkov is online today.
What was the announced downtime for patch 0.16.8.0?
Battlestate Games’ official Escape from Tarkov channel announced a July 9 maintenance start at 8:00 AM BST / 3:00 AM EDT. The post does not show a year. The studio said both Escape from Tarkov and Escape from Tarkov: Arena would be unavailable during installation, which was expected to take approximately six hours, with the possibility of an extension.
The announcement said the Escape from Tarkov update would include a wipe, while Arena would receive a partial wipe. The six-hour figure was an estimate, not a guaranteed return time.
Did the servers return on schedule?
No exact return time can be established from the available notices. Battlestate Games subsequently reported that installation had been extended and later posted that it was complete. The completion post instructed players to download the update through the game launcher. Because the extracted post sequence does not establish all date and timezone details, it is not possible to calculate a reliable total downtime from those updates.
